Cabano's Comfort Food
Old-school comfort food with elevated ingredients specializing in chicken sandwiches & burgers.
Came here with my two young sons and wife on a random Friday evening. Travelled all the way from Ajax. We weren't planning to come here but as we were looking for food in the area, we found this spot tucked away in the busy Bloor / Yonge area. Decided to give it a shot, even though the inside looked pretty empty (we were expecting it to be full when we saw the reviews).
We all ordered burgers and fries. I can tell you from eating so many smash burgers and being disappointed, this spot was a breath of fresh air. Burgers were really good, especially the Cabano burger that came with grilled jalapeno. Very fresh and crispy beef with cheese, lettuce, and onions, just how a smash burger should be made. I wanted to buy more to be honest.
They even served the coke in a bottle which is so refreshing on a hot evening.
Service was also good. They could however use some better seating (vs bar style high stool).
I would definitely recommend this place.
I’m honestly not much of a burger person, but Cabanos is a place I’ll go out of my way for. I always stop in if I’m downtown. Super clean kitchen, quick service, and my favourite is the burger with the crispy jalapenos. The homemade sauces are amazing too! So good every time. 🔥🔥

Cabano’s Cheeseburger was one of the highlights of my trip to Toronto and is easily one of the best burger spots I’ve tried.
As someone who has travelled to over 30 countries and enjoys trying great burger restaurants wherever I go, I can confidently say this place is well worth visiting.
I ordered the cheeseburger, the spicy fried chicken burger, and a side of onion rings.
The cheeseburger was excellent. The patty isn’t a full smash burger, nor is it a thick pub style burger. It sits somewhere in between, giving you the best of both worlds. If you’re specifically looking for an ultra crispy smash burger, this isn’t quite that, but if you want something balanced with a great beef flavour, you’ll really enjoy it. Personally, I still prefer a true smash burger, but this was absolutely delicious.
The spicy fried chicken burger was fantastic. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and full of flavour. Just be aware that it is genuinely spicy. I don’t tolerate spice particularly well, and it definitely had my tongue burning, so if you’re sensitive to spicy food, I’d recommend keeping that in mind before ordering.
The onion rings were another standout. Fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked, they complemented the meal really well.
Everything arrived hot, fresh, and clearly made to order. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my visit, and ordering from the self service touchscreen was quick, simple, and very convenient.
I also ended up watching a FIFA Club World Cup match while eating, and the large TV created a great atmosphere to enjoy the game with a burger.
The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and overall I had an excellent experience. This was my favourite burger in Toronto until I tried Happy Burger the following day, which just edged it into second place. That said, Cabano’s is still an outstanding burger spot that I’d happily recommend to anyone visiting the city.
The burger delivered an exceptional depth of flavor, distinguishing itself as one of the most outstanding I have ever experienced, and was flawlessly paired with fries that were equally delectable. The incorporation of dried green pepper imparted a gentle yet distinct heat, offering a sophisticated touch of spice that elevated the overall taste and created a lasting, memorable impression on the palate.

I had the pleasure of trying Cabanos Cheeseburgers and absolutely loved it! I ordered the Angus Prime Burger with loaded chilli fries, and everything was fantastic. The food tasted fresh and satisfying, without that heavy “fast food” feeling afterward. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and the service was quick and efficient. I’ll definitely be back!

I wish I got two patties LOL, was very yummy smash burger. I really like the fries as well, great definition of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger was soft but balanced out with the crispy patty.
There’s a kiosk if you don’t want to talk to anyone, and there were plenty of empty seats when I went in.
Thank you for having me :)

What the hell happened?
A year ago Cabono's was one of the best burgers in Toronto. I personally have recommended this place at least a dozen times to friends and family.
Now? 25 dollars for two anemic cheeseburgers that were no where near the weight they claim (1/4 pound of meat) with the saddest toppings I've seen in a burger outside of McDonald's. These burgers had LESS meat than a McDouble; and for three times the price!
The 7.49 fries are HALF A BAG that were clearly cooked 30 minutes ago, and left to limp in a heater.
What an absolute disgrace. This place used to mean something in the Toronto food scene. Good grief, does every good eats in Toronto need to fall apart?

25 bucks is the normal cost of these burgers. That's what I'm calculating here. 11.86 * 2 + tax. That's $27.18
I picked up the order. I was there right when the order was complete. This, is exactly what it looked like when I got home a block away.
I am positive. I previously wrote you guys a glowing review, and have been coming here almost every week. This was just a pathetic excuse for what you guys used to produce. I don't own a burger chain, and don't have a motive behind this beyond showing you what you are selling.
Stay positive.

Nice little spot with a limited but good menu. I got the double cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and my mom got the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The burger was well seasoned and juicy and the chicken was juicy and had thick strips of bacon. Good stop.
The burgers were absolutely delicious! We had the cabana and cheeseburger and they were both so tasty, perfectly seasoned! The fries were real potatoes and perfectly seasoned as well. Very filling, they didn’t skimp on anything. Our combos were about $20 per person (plus tax) with bottled drinks, and well worth it. Great little fast food joint and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!
