I’ve tried many sandwiches in Toronto but this is by far THE BEST I’ve ever had in this city!!! The house special sandwich includes a sweet balsamic glaze, salami, mozzarella, tomato, prosciutto, and a spicy chili sauce. It’s absolutely divine. The sandwich is huge and packed incredibly tightly with fresh ingredients. And the staff were so friendly!

We tried La Salumeria and absolutely loved it! We had the house sandwich and the mortadella sandwich—both were delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were lovely, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The only thing to note is that it was extremely busy and the wait for sandwiches was about 30–40 minutes. Totally worth it, but I’d recommend avoiding peak lunchtime on a weekend if you’re not up for waiting. Otherwise, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

I must try! I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place, and it lives up to its hype. Trust the owner and get the house special made. They also have a wide variety of deli meats, cheeses, and everything in between olive oil, pasta, and other imported, Italian goodies.

Don’t miss out on this place

This place has been getting an insane amount of recognition on tic toc it is in my area so of course I had to get on board and go check them out. I ended up going late Saturday afternoon, when I arrived there was a line to the door, a staff member was nice enough to ask if I was here to get a sandwhich I said yes and she told me they have run out of buns which was a good to know so that I didn't waste my time standing there. The next day sunday I went back much earlier, the line wasn't that bad I grabbed a panni roll and waited about 15 min. I ordered the house special the owner ended up making the sandwhich he was very nice. When I got home I immediately went for the sandwhich, it had a very unique taste because of the fig jam, the flavour profile was salty sweet, the bun was fresh and overall the sandwhich was good I only ate half of it and was full. Would I say that this was the best sammi I've ever had? Not quiet I think it's a decent sandwhich and that the social media hype about it is a bit extra. I would go back if I happen to be in the area but I would probably just order a regular sandwhich that prices in under $15. If you get a chance to go because you are in the area sure check it out but if you live a distance away I'm not sure I personally would go out of my way. However if you do stop in also check out the great products the store has they have alot of imported goods and the owner and staff are very friendly. Give a thumbs up if you found this helpful!

I got the pizza ciabatta sized bun (pro tip: the earlier you go, the better as three types of bread were already sold out!). Even though it looked smaller when we selected the bun, it was surprisingly very filling! We only finished half each. We chose two of the in-house specials, which came to about $15 each, totally worth it. I would recommend adding arugula if it’s available and that’s something you like. The staff is super friendly, and the line moved quickly. Great experience overall!

La Salumeria is a unique gem that defies easy categorization—it's not quite a restaurant, nor just a sandwich shop; it feels like a small grocery store with a kitchen that crafts unforgettable sandwiches. Trust me, once you try one of their creations, you'll realize that no other sandwich can compare.

The owner, a true sandwich Picasso, is an inventive genius. If you're curious about what makes their sandwiches so special, just walk in and ask for the house special at the sandwich bar. Then, find a comfy seat because you might be too blissed out to stand after that first bite!

And before you leave, make sure to grab some Italian delicacies from their selection. If you know what you're doing, you won't regret it!

Stepping into La Salumeria on Yonge Street is like taking a delightful detour to an old-world Italian deli.

Forget the fleeting trends; this little place offers an authentic, no-frills experience where the star of the show is undeniably the food.

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an irresistible bounty of Italian delights.

Their selection of cheeses is particularly noteworthy, often featuring unique and hard-to-find options that will impress any connoisseur. Alongside the stellar cheeses, the cold cuts are fantastic, promising high quality and authentic flavours.

But perhaps the most raved-about offering at La Salumeria is their sandwiches. Customers consistently praise them as some of the best in Toronto, with many highlighting the perfect proportion of fresh meats, cheeses, and sauces, all nestled in incredible ciabatta bread. Be warned, these sandwiches are generously sized and can often make for two satisfying meals!

While some find them a tad spicy, others, especially those with a palate for Calabrian heat, will feel right at home.

Beyond the exceptional food, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, often attributed to Carlo, the owner, makes the experience even more special. It's the kind of neighbourhood spot where you can find everything from olive oil to milk and eggs, making it a convenient and cherished local haunt.

While some older reviews mention changes in ownership over the years, the consensus is that the wonderful atmosphere and quality have remained. It's a place where the hype is real, and whether you're a long-time local or a first-time visitor, La Salumeria is a must-try for an authentic taste of Italy right in the heart of Toronto. You might just find your new favourite sandwich!

La Salumeria is hands down one of my favorite spots in Nairobi, and for good reason! The moment you step in, you’re greeted by a warm, cozy atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The soft lighting, rustic decor, and intimate vibe create the perfect setting for a relaxed meal with friends or a special dinner date.

The real star here, though, is the food. La Salumeria does authentic Italian like no other. Every dish is crafted with care, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. The pasta is always fresh, the pizza has that perfect thin crust, and the risotto? Absolutely sublime.

The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit feel personal and special. It’s one of those places where the experience is always top-tier, and every meal feels like a little taste of Italy in the heart of Nairobi. If you love great food and a welcoming atmosphere, La Salumeria is the place to be.

Had my first visit to this Italian deli and specialty shop today and I know I'll be back for more! You start by picking your fresh bread, and after a (very real!) lineup in store, you get to order your sandwich, made right in front of you with high quality ingredients. I went with their special on the recommendation of the lovely staff, and they put together a total masterpiece!! 😍 packed with bold, spicy-sweet flavors. The sandwich was huge and could easily feed two people! I’ll definitely be going back to try more sandwiches and explore all their amazing products as well!

Very very good food and excellent service! Loved the Penne Putanesca.
The vine was superb. Pavlova - a dream. After two grappa and an espresso. We all left with happy smilet. Thank you

My very valid complaint about my order was horribly handled with very little patience or professionalism from the Owner. He clearly didn't care for the money I was spending in his restaurant.

Ordered a takeaway lasagne using Bokt food. This is disgraceful and downright wrong to charge people for such horrible food.

Awesome old-school deli shop.

Sandwich offerings that are about the same size and price as a 12" from a chain subshop, but is gourmet bread packed with quality meat and cheese.

It's fun to browse and choose from such varied and often hard-to-find goods.
