Exceptional 10 course tasting menu. The diversity of the courses made it a unique and robust experience. Refined and authentic. Monica and the whole service team is excellent. Special shout out to Christopher, for the remarkable wine pairing experience. Extensive and distinct.

A truly memorable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was elegant, warm, and inviting without feeling overly formal or pretentious. The staff were welcoming and professional, and the service was attentive throughout the evening.

Each dish was beautifully presented with great attention to detail, and you could really see the thought and creativity behind the menu. Overall, it was one of the more unique and memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Toronto. Definitely worth visiting for a special occasion or simply for an elevated night out.

The food at Alo was very good, and both the presentation and ambience were excellent. However, the portions were surprisingly small. Even after the six-course tasting menu, I left feeling hungry, which was disappointing given the price and overall experience. Having visited other Michelin-starred restaurants, I understand that tasting-menu portions are meant to be smaller, but the full meal should still leave guests satisfied. Everything was beautifully executed, but the portion sizes prevented the experience from feeling complete.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Alo Restaurant celebrating my husband’s birthday and our first anniversary! The evening was truly memorable, and the food was exceptional.

Michael was incredibly knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients, and his passion for the menu added so much to the experience. The service was outstanding and precise throughout the evening, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The food had incredible depth of flavor, with each course offering a unique and memorable taste experience.

The only aspect we felt could be improved was the repeated offers of an additional 7th course after we had already selected the set menu. While we appreciated being presented with options, it felt a little unnecessary to be asked multiple times, given that we had already committed to the 6-course tasting experience.

Overall, Alo provided a wonderful celebration and a dining experience we will remember. I would highly recommend Alo for special occasions or anyone looking for an exceptional fine dining experience.

相当难吃 实在是太难吃了 太难吃了 太难吃了 太难吃了!太难吃了! The one and only ingredient they used was salt, I had to drink 10 glasses of water to balance the flavour and used the washroom thrice. Very disappointing food. The desserts were not better than any dessert shops…. You won’t be able to have a non-fragmented convo with your friends/family because every single meal will have a very long description and the servers speak in a whisper i could barely hear:)

For the food, they love to make every sauce into mousse-like texture/foams, and this is the only creativity they got, but still taste disastrous. Extremely salted and I am still drinking water 3 hours after finishing the meal. The only thing tasted okay was the lobster tail itself, but couldn’t cut open use the “delicate” knife they provided…. Had to swallow the whole thing in one bite. The bread was good, and the texture was actually what an average canele should be like, but the canele they serve was again disgusting.. Honestly if you don’t know how to make the most basic French dessert, you should get them from a bakery… wondering if the chefs had tasted the food ever…
for the service, each dish was served by a different person. other French restaurants that did this, they actually speak the words clearly enough that we could hear. The environment was not noisy but still, we could only hear few words. The descriptive words were “intentionally “ missed out by the server. And we had to sit there, smiled , and wowed to be polite while hearing only the key words.

I would give the food and service six stars if I could. Absolutely amazing dining experience something I will always remember.
Went for my brother birthday and could not of enjoyed ourselves more.

We did the 10 course food tasting along with a 6 course wine tasting (and Christopher the Sommelier was absolutely wonderful and made the experience that much better)

Our server joydeep was attentive and really blew us away with his attention to detail.

This was the best food we have had in Toronto and will be coming back.

The best meal I have had easily. Everything was just about perfect. We had the 10 course tasting menu and it was the perfect amount of food. Mostly seafood focused with just a couple heavier and richer dishes to balance it out. Amazing!

Came here to celebrate a birthday, we had the 10 course set menu with wine pairings.

The food was good, but nothing really surprised us. Each dish was well balanced, just not very memorable. The wine pairings, though, were a letdown, most of the reds, whites, and even the champagne were disappointing. We also felt the sommelier didn’t quite match the level you’d expect from a Michelin star restaurant.

although we had some disappointment, the service was very thoughtful and wonderful overall.

One of the best dining experiences in Toronto. From the moment you walk in, everything feels refined and perfectly organized.

The tasting menu is outstanding — every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor, with a perfect balance of French technique and creativity. The attention to detail in each course truly reflects Michelin-level quality.

Service is professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable fine dining experience

By far the best restaurant in Toronto so far. I came here for my birthday and the experience was transcendent. First, the service was top tier level, the waiter that took care of us was gentlemen with a great vibe. Best server I had in my life. They seated us according to our request (nice seating away from the entrance). They also printed a birthday card for me which was very considerate. They also called and emailed asking us very detailed oriented questions ahead of the dinner which was top notch. They also switched our utensils every meal which is a small detail yet powerful dinner experience detail. Sparkling water was also complimentary versus other restaurants. The pace of the food was perfect as well and they also gave me a small birthday cake!

Food was immaculate. An eye opening experience. I cannot even describe the food/art that I have eaten. Nothing disappointed me. They used the best of the best ingredients. Every dish was perfectly curated and every bite was orgasmic. If I was a multi millionaire, I would come here everyday. All the food was at the right temperature, nothing got stuck to our teeth, and I would say the egg & toast dish was one very memorable.

Now as for the atmosphere, the decor was elegant but the restaurant isn’t very big, thus the difficulty of getting a reservation. It was comfy and treated us extremely well.

Overall I recommend it for special occasions, not for a huge party but great for 4 people family or with your significant other. I will be coming back for sure one day.

An exceptional dining experience — easily deserving its Michelin star (and arguably more).

Alo is one of those rare restaurants where absolutely everything — from the first greeting to the final bite — feels intentional, precise, and quietly extraordinary. Toronto has no shortage of ambitious tasting-menu restaurants, but Alo sits in a class of its own. The execution is flawless, the flavors are balanced yet surprising, and every plate feels like it was composed by people who care about perfection without ever drifting into pretension.

The tasting menu flows beautifully: thoughtful transitions, impeccable pacing, and dishes that manage to be both technically impressive and genuinely delicious. There’s no “one dish” that steals the show because the entire experience is the show — elevated but warm, sophisticated but deeply satisfying. Even the smallest elements (a broth, a garnish, a sauce) are dialed in with a level of finesse you rarely see.

Service is world-class: gracious, polished, attentive without hovering. The kind of hospitality that anticipates needs rather than reacts to them. The team operates with the smoothness of a well-rehearsed ensemble, and yet the energy is relaxed, never stiff.

The room itself feels quietly luxurious — intimate, atmospheric, and perfectly suited to the multi-course format. It sets the stage rather than competing with the food.

Alo absolutely earns its Michelin star, and honestly, it’s easy to imagine it holding more. It’s a restaurant that makes you feel lucky to be there.

5 out of 5 stars — a standout in Toronto and a must for anyone who loves exceptional dining.

Alo delivers one of the most memorable fine-dining experiences in Toronto. The nine-course blind chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings was exceptional. Each dish was beautifully executed, balanced, and genuinely delicious. The pairings elevated the flavours. I appreciated Christopher’s storytelling behind the wines selected.

The open-kitchen view added an extra layer of enjoyment, letting me watch the team work as they delivered dinner service.

The food is so good it gave me two existential crises mid meal. I did not know eggs could taste so deep and rich. I have never had steak so succulent and buttery. The bread is perfect. Even the smaller bites were bursting with unique and complex flavor combinations that I had never imagined.

We got the tasting menu. I went there famished and I left stuffed. In total I believe we were in the restaurant for about 3 hours.

The experience sitting counterside and watching the chefs prepare the dishes was like getting dinner and a show. If you're like me and you have an interest in kitchen craft from a childhood watching Food Network then I recommend this option.

The service was impeccable. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable and conversational without being overbearing.

Weeks later, I am still thinking about this wonderful meal.

I was looking for something special for my wife & I’s anniversary and Alo delivered on all fronts. From the moment we walked in the service was fantastic. Our server Michael had tremendous knowledge of the menu. The courses came quick but never felt rushed. The attention to detail is nothing we have ever experienced. The whole evening was an experience we will never forget. We op-ed in for the kitchen sitting area and it was amazing seeing the chefs preparing the food in front of our eyes.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a new experience with fantastic food. My favourite was definitely the steak wagyu dish, it was probably one of the best courses I’ve ever tasted.

Really good service. Came here to celebrate our anniversary with my boyfriend. Will definitely come again :) We got their blind tasting menu, server says it changes max every 3 months.

We celebrated our anniversary here and had an incredible time. Every single ingredient is sourced and prepared with a lot of thought behind it. Extremely impressive dynamic flavours throughout. I think this might genuinely be the best fine dining tasting menu I have had. Thanks to everyone for accommodating and making our anniversary special. Also thanks to our waiter Michael and Christopher for the small wine journey. It’s so hard to pick a favourite dish because everything was so good and flavourful.
We can’t wait to come back and try the other experiences that Alo has to offer! See you soon, thank you so much.

My wife and I celebrated Valentine’s Dinner on the Saturday this year at Alo. This was our first Michelin Star Restaurant experience and it was absolutely remarkable.

The staff is incredibly meticulous with their actions and they do not miss a beat. Their knowledge of each dish was broad and highly impressive. A basic “thank you” can go a long way, people…thank the staff every chance you get!

The food was beyond what we could have imagined. The flavors were delectable and the plating was a work of art for each dish. It truly was a journey for our taste buds.

We will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you to all the staff at Alo for an unforgettable experience!

Alo is an absolute masterpiece in the culinary world, where creativity, patience, and care shine through in every dish. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the meticulous process that goes into each plate. The quality of the ingredients is evident—especially the toro, which melts in your mouth like nothing I've ever experienced before. Every flavor is perfectly balanced, with the butter feeling light and the richer notes creating an unforgettable depth.

The presentation is a work of art, showcasing not just skill, but an unwavering commitment to aesthetics and creativity. Morgan, the sommelier, is a true expert, guiding guests through a thoughtfully curated wine list and sharing hidden gems that elevate the entire dining experience.

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, adding to the overall refined yet approachable atmosphere. There's a unique energy here, with the perfect blend of sophistication and fun, especially with the carefully selected music that gives the space an edge over other fine-dining establishments.

Every detail at Alo is executed to perfection, making it an exceptional culinary journey that stands out in the world of fine dining. A five-star experience without a doubt!

My partner and I are so grateful for the impeccable experience we had at Alo to celebrate our anniversary last February that while reminiscing over unposted photos from last year we felt the need to share them now as we are now longing to return. We had booked a dining room blind tasting menu which lasted around 3 hours (which truly is just enough time) and the food was perfectly portioned to fill us up by the end that we even had a few chocolates left to take back home. We upgraded a few of our dishes, which were kindly presented as optional, and added a few cocktails along the way. If you’re looking for an elevated French dining experience in Toronto you must include Alo on your journey.

Really enjoyed the experience! The food was delicious and creative, the service was top notch, and ambiance was wonderful. We got the tasting menu and nonalcoholic pairing which included 10 dishes and we spent 3 hours in total which flew by! The staff were all lovely and seemed very passionate and knowledgeable. This has been by far my favourite dining experience in Toronto. Would definitely recommend Alo for special occasions!
