Their cheddar chive tea biscuits are delicious. I buy 6 at a time, freeze them, and have one every Saturday for breakfast. The garlic cheddar baguette is wonderful; it’s actually wrapped in cheese. 😋. Purchased the Ontario strawberry danish and the lemon blueberry croissant. Definitely worth the $7.50 price which I was a big sceptical about paying. The strawberries are SO delicious. Highly recommend.
Great coffee and an amazing bakery selection! The place is very popular and usually packed, with long lineups and limited seating, so it can be difficult to find a table. Despite that, the quality of the coffee and fresh baked goods makes it worth the visit.
We also grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread to take home, and it was amazing—fresh, flavorful, and only $6, which was a great value. If you’re visiting, you should definitely try the Kinder Bueno latte—it was delicious and one of the highlights of our visit.
Great spot, pastries were extremely delicious and all their tarts are a must try!
The drinks are okay but expensive for what they’re worth. Although they’ve got a nice La Marzocco, it does not seem that the baristas are experienced. If you’re looking for something aesthetic such as latte art, you won’t find it here.
I first tried desserts from this place at another café on Yonge and knew I had to visit one day.
The space is really nice, clean, minimal, and warm with a wood tone interior.
Besides baked goods, they also sell frozen items and coffee beans.
The tables are large, making it a great spot for studying or working.
👉 Stuffed Everything Bagel Croissant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ ($6.5)
So good. The everything seasoning makes it a guaranteed win.
The croissant is flaky and crisp, falling apart with every bite.
The cream cheese filling is excellent, mixed with dill and green onion, very fragrant.
I can already imagine how good the version with salmon would be.
👉 Flat White ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (around $5)
Smooth and enjoyable. There is a subtle floral note, almost like rose but not exactly.
Leaves a nice lingering aroma.
👉 Cherry Almond Scone ⭐️✨ ($4.25)
Not for me. Very sweet with an artificial cherry flavor.
Saw this bakery on IG and thought “not another overhyped spot…” but Circles & Squares actually lives up to it. Like, it’s worth it.
The butter tarts are HUGE—literally the size of your palm—and sooo good 😊 super flaky and gooey, exactly how they should be. There was a bit of a line but it moved pretty fast, so not a big deal.
I tried the buffalo chicken grilled cheese and omg… so good and actually filling. Perfect cheese pull with a little spicy kick—like cheddar kisses fr 😘. Also got the cherry hibiscus refresher and it was chef’s kiss—I loved it so much I got a second one 💞
The sourdough bread was also going crazy—everyone was buying loaves and now I regret not grabbing one.
Definitely coming back to try more stuff (and probably hit up other locations too).
The specialty butter tarts are SO sweet. I ate the coconut cream topping and it would be delicious as a stand alone tart. Add the butter tart filling and it was just too sweet. Same with the S’mores and chocolate peanut butter. However, the plain butter tart was PERFECT; no sugar crust in the bottom which is my idea of a great filling. The pastry is very nice. I would return but only for the plain butter tarts. Wish they had raisins.
This is one of my favourite bakeries. I’ve only been to the Yonge Street location, but I’ve enjoyed plenty of their pastries through other cafés that carry their products.
Two standout items for me are the Coconut Cream Pie Butter Tart and the Banana Pudding. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the banana pudding available today, so I went with the butter tart - and it did not disappoint.
I’m not usually a butter tart person, but I love coconut cream pie, and this hybrid is incredibly decadent. The cream layer really helps balance out the intense sweetness of a traditional butter tart, if that makes sense. The filling is foamy, milky, creamy, lightly sweet, and packed with coconut, while the tart base is buttery with that classic ooey-gooey richness.
It’s quite dense and generously sized - not something you rush through. This is definitely a dessert to slow down and savour.
The prices are very reasonable compared to other bakeries, which makes it even better. I also picked up a loaf of their sourdough bread this time, and it was just as delicious.
This location has a lot of outdoor seating which is nice.
Always a solid spot for high-quality, indulgent treats!
Oh man. We wanted to try EVERYTHING!! It all looks so good. We ended up trying the pecan butter tarts and Banana Biscoff cake slice. The butter tarts are to my preference...lite and flaky crust (not the traditional butter tart shells). The filling was excellent. Not too runny, and not overly firm. Having tried many butter tarts from all across Ontario, these ones are gunning for the top spot!
The banana biscoff cake was a favorite of my wife and daughter. Rich, but not too much. Just the right amount of sweetness balanced with a bit of spice....they cant stop talking about it. Perfect with a cup of coffee.
This is now on our "must stop" list when we are in the area.
Well done Cirlce and Squares...well done!
Has been a regular for past 3 years and always a delight to be here. The baked goods have such amazing quality and great selection of products. This time tried the banoffee croissant and was oh so yummy. The spinach and artichoke pie was delicious too.

Made my first visit just before Christmas, and it was bustling! Tried a variety of baked goods:
Caramel apple almond croissant - its loaded with tons of apple slices and it's literally like eating a large slice of hot apple pie, but instead of pie crust it has a flaky croissant as the base. This is more like a dessert - never had a croissant like this before, highly recommended! It may seem a bit pricey but it's justified as it's incredibly filling.
Chive and cheese scone - it lives up to the hype, it is really good.
Blueberry muffin - it doesn't look special,, but it IS. Very moist and bursting with Blueberry aroma.
The savoury breads were equally impressive. The cheese baguette is a must try, and the artichoke brioche is amazing!

I've had treats from Circles and Squares on two occasions this year... First time was during the summer, where I ate on the patio, and today we were gifted a box of goodies.
Everything I've tried so far have been delicious. What can I say about the butter tarts other than the fact this is the epitome of what a perfect butter tart is. The crust is flaky and crunchy without being hard, and the filling has just the right consistency and simply tastes divine.
If it's your first time, then the butter tart should be your first choice to try.

Heard a lot about this place and finally got the chance to try!
Obviously, we had to go with the butter tarts. I wouldn't say they're the best I've had in the city, but definitely in the top 3. The original was much better than the pecan. The carrot cake was perfectly not too sweet and moist. The brownie wasn't anything special, but still good. The earl grey scone has a nice flavor, but was a bit dry.
The girl working the front was robotic. Didn't feel like she cared or wanted to take our order.

Very busy spot for a Saturday, but the staff were cheerful and efficient. Lots of pastry options to choose from, and everything we tried was flavorful. We picked up a bunch of items and definitely spent a pretty penny, but the quality was there. Nothing was so outstanding that I’d drive 40 minutes just for it, but if I’m in the area, I’d happily come back.
Huge fan of Circles & Squares. Service is always wonderful and the pastries are 100/10!! First time visiting this location and I absolutely love it. They've got a couple corn hole games out front, benches and some seating indoors as well. Highly recommend!!
