When I am looking for a shawarma spot on Queen West, Alpha’s absolutely delivers. The moment you walk in, you can smell the fresh grilled meat and spices, and the place always has a steady lineup — which usually tells you everything you need to know.

The chicken shawarma was juicy, flavourful, and perfectly seasoned with that ideal balance of smoky char and garlic sauce. The wrap itself was packed generously without falling apart, and the ingredients tasted fresh from start to finish. Their fries and garlic sauce combo is seriously addictive too. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient even during busy hours, and the energy inside gives it that authentic downtown Toronto food spot vibe.

What really stands out is the portion size and consistency. You actually feel like you’re getting value for your money, especially for Queen West. Whether you grab a quick late-night wrap or sit down for a full platter, Alpha’s lives up to the hype.

Had the normal shawarma a few years ago, thought it was the best shawarma I’ve ever had, then came back today and had the crispy mixed shawarma, this is now the best shawarma I’ve had. The mixed shawarma plate had a generous amount of meat, portions were excellent. My father and I liked it so much we decided to order 3 more crispy shawarmas to go for the entire family

The tall young guy from sauga at the cash is very nice and helpful, definitely had some of the best service I’ve seen in a minute; made the visit a delight. The tall bearded guy packing my order was awesome had great service. I’ve met the shorter guy a while back he’s really great as well. Atmosphere and service here is a 10 for sure.

This location specifically had a decent amount of parking available (the one near Yonge doesn’t).

The flavor was pretty good, not too overwhelming but definitely not bland. The meat was seasoned well and the portions are actually huge, so you get your money's worth.

Definitely try the Kibbeh. It was easily some of the best I’ve had, super crispy on the outside, meaty inside, and pretty hot.

Their garlic sauce on the side is also pretty good. It’s tangy and has a great kick to it.

The people working there are friendly and have and the place design is pretty cool.

The Bathroom (6/10): Honestly, this part could be better. It’s pretty small and wasn't the cleanest. The water pressure was good, but the men’s room door was propped wide open when I was there, which was a little weird.

I used to love this place now it’s a place I do not rate.

This place used to be Alpha shawarma now it’s only Alpha when I step in.

Late nights used to count on the chicken wrap so many times now it’s a place that has lost all of its shine.

The customer service is still nice and the food is at a good price but it’s not a place that’s worth my bite.

I used to recommend this place to everyone, now it’s a place I would tell no one.

I miss the old Alpha not this new Beta.

Every time I come from New York, I make sure to stop at Alpha’s Shawarma. The chicken is always juicy, the garlic sauce is perfect, and the portions are huge. Consistently great food and super friendly service — one of my favorite spots in Toronto! I hope they one day open a branch in New York!

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate at Alpha’s Shawarma, and it was absolutely fantastic! The portion was generous and loaded, and the flavors were amazing. It came with a fresh salad, and everything tasted authentic and well-prepared.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was lively with great music playing, few staff members was even dancing along, which made the experience even more fun.

The only downside was that the garbage bin was full and the washrooms weren’t very clean. It’s something I think should be monitored and maintained more regularly, as it would make the overall experience perfect.

We took some friends from out of town for delicious shawarma at Alpha's and Malek and the rest of the crew there did not disappoint. The family platter was delicious and everyone there was very kind, generous, and friendly. Needless to say, there wasn't much left to take home. 😂

Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic shawarma experience in the downtown area.

Update: Came back here to dine-in yesterday and ordered take outs as well, but unfortunately, they missed to add our 2 large order garlic sauces in the bag🥴… I guess when you dine-in, tell them to prep everything all at once so you have time to check what’s in the bag especially when they’re crazy busy at lunch time… Anyway, posted pictures this time!

Alpha’s Shawarma on King is a brand new spot, but they’re already moving like veterans. Easily one of the cleanest, fastest, and most consistent shawarma joints downtown. Staff run it like a tight unit, military-level precision, no sloppiness, no delays. You feel the pride in the operation the second you walk in. The owners clearly care about both the craft and the customer experience.

Wraps come out fast but never rushed. Crispy press on the flat top, loaded evenly, balanced flavours. Fries stay crunchy, veggies are fresh, and the sauces never overpower. No overstuffed messes or dry gaps, every bite lands.

You can tell this isn’t just a cash-grab food spot. They’re building reputation, not just volume. Super friendly vibe, but dialed-in and efficient. Perfect post-club fix or sober quality check. Brand new and already outclassing the veterans. Never missed.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious full of flavor and reminded me of real home-cooked meals. A special thank you to Chef Malek his passion truly shows in every dish. He was not only kind and welcoming, but also made sure everything was perfect. The service was great, the atmosphere was warm, and the whole experience felt special. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
