Tried the Favoloso Panuozzo at CRUDO PIZZA & PANUOZZO and it absolutely lives up to its name.
The bread was perfectly baked crisp on the outside with that chewy, airy interior you want from a proper panuozzo. Inside, the combination of ricotta cream and oven roasted turkey was rich but balanced, while the sweet peppers added a nice pop of freshness. The arugula gave it a bit of peppery bite, and the balsamic glaze tied everything together with just the right touch of sweetness.
It’s one of those sandwiches that feels indulgent but still light enough that you don’t regret finishing the whole thing. Every ingredient tasted fresh and intentional.
Definitely a solid choice if you’re craving something that’s a step above your usual sandwich. Would 100% order it again.
What a good experience dining in at this place. A little tight in the seating but more than enough room to stuff your face with delicious sandwiches and pizza. A sandwich was enough to feed 2 small to medium sized appetites. I could've eaten a while sandwich to myself.
On to the sandwiches, loaded with which ever near you choose and the bread is freshly baked in house and it's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We bought the mortadella and the il crudo and took a pepperoni pizza to go. Don't forget the hot peppers with every bite. I thought the mortadella was better than the il crudo. But not by much. Both were excellent. The pizza was eaten later in the evening and while good, would have been better fresh. It's the typical pizza you'd find in an authentic Italian pizzeria in Canada. 2 sandwiches and a pepperoni pizza came to $90 Brio, water and tip included. Would def recommend to anybody!! Oh and go early cause it gets packed fast. Parking at the rear gets full fast and there's a street directly behind the plaza that is good for parking as well.
Really good overall. The staff, service, and dine-in wait time were great, especially considering how busy it gets. The space is small but they do offer table service, though everyone is seated pretty close together. The vibe is cool, like an Italian bakery which gives it an authentic Italian feel, but I could have done without the hiphop music blasting at times.
The sandwiches are stacked and they definitely don’t skimp on protein. Everything tastes fresh and light despite the generous portions. The prices are exceptional for both the quantity and quality. The desserts were also quite good.
My only note is the dough. I was expecting it to be chewier, more like Neapolitan pizza with some charred flavour, especially for the pizza, but that’s where it misses. The same dough is used for both the sandwiches and pizzas, which did not quite meet that expectation.
Overall, I can easily see this place growing into a full restaurant in the future with a larger space, a proper Neapolitan pizza oven, and alcohol service, making it more of a proper sit-down restaurant than just a sandwich takeout spot.
Finally tried Crudo and it did not disappoint! Definitely worth the drive and wait!
Now THAT'S a sandwich!
They were sold out of their Saturday sausage special, so we got the Joe Rogan and the Crudo sandwiches. Both were really good! Also tried the diavola pizza, tiramisu, and Biscoff tiramisu. Everything was delicious!
Service was really good. The restaurant was packed. Luckily a table opened up just as we finished ordering.
We will be back!
It was disappointing . The quality of the ingredients was good, and the bread was fresh and high quality as well. The portion size was huge and very filling, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. Considering the price, I expected much better taste. The cold cuts had almost no flavor, the cheese was tasteless, and even the pistachios didn’t add any noticeable taste. It felt like the focus was more on quantity than flavor. Overall, good-quality ingredients, but the food was bland and not memorable in terms of taste.
An unreasonably long wait for a completely average meal.
The service was so slow, and the food was mediocre, that ordering two days in advance and paying, left me feeling rather disappointed. I got 4 cold sandwiches for 120 dollars. The most disappointing part was the fact that walkins recieved their food before I did, even after checking in for a update on my order 3 seperate times while I waited at the order desk. Each time I was assured my food would be made shortly. Here's the kicker, my food was ready, well before I recieved it. Don't forget I never stepped away from the order desk. I personally watched my sandwiches being loaded in to the box and being placed aside. I had a feeling that was my order which is why I checked in three several times, each time providing my first and last name so they "could check on my order". All the while they were sitting right there, so much for customer service. The sad part of all my time spent at the order desk, I literally watched at least 80 sandwiches being made. One thing I observed while patiently waiting, was that when the "rush" subsides you can see how this place may have recieved it's hype. The sandwiches are made with pride, constructed with passion, assembled with precision. Unfortunately that same degree of execution is not consistent across each order. I'd love to say this was my first visit, but it was not. I reserved my review prior to give this a second place a second chance. Sadly the only thing consistent was the level of my disappointment.
Every panuozzo you order is with freshly baked pizza dough . They are very generous with the ingredients and for $20, it's a pretty big sandwich. I was only able to finish half so you could definitely share. Only down side was it didn't have any sauce in it, so it lacked a lot of flavors despite having fresh ingredients. It would be perfect if they added pesto/truffle paste or any sauce really. Otherwise it just tastes like a caprese salad.
Drove 1.5 hours to finally try this place out after seeing all over TikTok!!! The cafe crema was an amazing little dessert treat. Pizza was delicious but the crust. The crust!! I don’t eat crust but this one I did 😍
Sandwich was packed with mortadella, lots of pistachio sauce and tons of cheese. Again, the bread!!!! Brought a tuna pizza home for tomorrow and the mortadella pizza for a friend. Who said it was the closest pizza to a New York pizza she’s ever had.
Delicious food, comfortable seating, and the young lady serving us was lovely and patient while I tried to make up my mind. Missed out on the meatball sandwich we wanted, but will go back earlier next time.
Value, freshness and portion is perfect. If I could do 4.5 I would. Crudo is superb and tasty. Wish there was an option to do a half/half sandwich so I can taste as many sandwiches as possible. One sandwich easily satisfied 2 adults. Can't wait to come back to done in.
Freshest ingredients and that bread/pizza crust they use for their Panuozzos and pizzas…fire! Had the Tuna pizza (believe that it works!), mortadella with pistachio cream and stracciatella sandwich, spicy salami with spicy eggplant and hot peppers (damn hot!). It was all fabulously delicious! Do yourself a massive favour and just go already!
I had the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten in Toronto at Crudo. This place is a hidden gem! The quality of the ingredients is outstanding, and you can really taste the difference. Everything is fresh, simple, and full of flavor – true Italian excellence. Highly recommend it if you’re into authentic Italian food. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Food is good, I ve had better sandwiches but the service is by far the worst I ve ever experienced. They ll ask for your number and never message you when your food is ready and on top of that when you end up picking your food they don’t apologize for making you wait 40 minutes and they re very snobby and rude from the moment you walk in. Definitely won’t be going back
Wow...What you have seen on social media is all true. Awesome quality and generous quantity. Too many sandwhiches to choose from and I'll just have to make my way down the list. Bread was crunchy and supple all at the same time. The meats are excellent quality and the fresh mozzarella makes a huge difference and contrast to the rich meat. Can't wait for my next visit.
I recently tried Crudo Sandwich and Pizza, and I’m genuinely blown away! The sandwiches were fresh, flavourful, and made with high-quality ingredient. the perfect balance of texture and taste. And the pizza? Simply delicious! The crust was perfectly crisp, and the toppings were generous and well-balanced. You can truly taste the care they put into every bite. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great food and friendly service!
Oh wow! This was my first reaction! I just got this place randomly while heading home! I just saw it along the way and told to myself, let's give it a try! The "subs" here were absolutely fantastic! A bit overpriced tho, but I guess it is because of the quality of the ingredients they use! You can even feel/taste the quality on each bite! My "subs" were absolutely fantastic! So tasty! The service was phenomenal! They were very friendly with me even when it was my first time and I had no idea what to expect! Highly recommended and I'll come back again, like often! Try the specialty of the house (prosciutto)!
We finally made to Crudo. After a long day at the ROM and building up an appetite, we headed to Crudo. Everyone must go and meet the wonderful people who greeted us like family. The food was absolutely out of this world and the portions are exactly what u see on their social media. The bread fresh from the oven and steaming, the porchetta was juicy and melt in ur mouth. The other sandwiches we sampled were amazing. I highly recommend a visit to Crudo. Don’t wait just go and enjoy.
I have worked in the service industry for 8+ years. I went there on Saturday night after all the hype i have seen online. I got 2 sandwiches, both were amazing. I don’t understand reading some of the reviews on here. It’s $20 a sandwich that’s about 1.5x the size of subway and it’s filled with REAL freshly sliced meats from Italy, fresh delicious bread, and don’t even get me started on how good the cheese is…
Your sub probably costs $14 and it’s processed garbage. This place is not expensive for what you get. The wait time is long, and worth it, however it can be avoided by ordering online. I went at night and saw them taking orders all the way up until 7:55pm.
I was respectful at the counter(unlike most people) and tipped $5, around 11%, and was offered coffee, espresso, water, etc for free. The staff here are the same when I show up for lunch, or for dinner, they work long hours but they are amazing.
Amazing work crudo team.
Ordered the pizza which was expensive for 4 slices but that's besides the point. We ate a slice warm which had no taste. Then we waited for it to cool off and had our second piece. We were able to taste a little bit of the sauce but it was still tasteless. We also got the mortadella Panuozzo which was much better than their pizza for a similar price. They put a lot of meat in the Panuozzo which is nice and the pistachio sauce helped alleviate some of the dryness. Definitely worth trying their Panuozzo. Pizza was lacking in flavour for the price.
Tried for the first time after seeing videos about their sandwiches (Panuozzo). Ordered in store and waited around 50min to 1hr. I ordered the il crudo and mortadella. Portions were generous but it was like $20 before tax. The taste was also pretty good and everything was freshly made to order. Personally, idk if I would wait an hour for a sandwich but I do see why people like this spot.
