Susie's Rise & Dine
Great retro style diner, with elevated creative menu. There was a line outside waiting for them to open. Some people had reservations. As I’m sure everyone has said before, amazing pancakes. Moist with a crunchy yummy crust. Everything we tried was delicious. We even got an additional order of wings to go so we could have it for lunch on our flight home. Perfect amount of spicy. Delicious French pressed coffee. Can’t wait to go back!
My wife came across this location off social media which didn’t disappoint us one bit. Visiting all the way from Florida, we had an amazing experience. First off, the whole staff were extremely nice. Our waitress (Yonna) was very nice and professional. Even gave us some things to do while in town. The food was amazing! These are probably the best pancakes we have ever had. Also while enjoying food, they were playing all the R&B jams. Such an amazing vibe with good people and good food! Thank you Susie’s Rise & Dine.
Susie’s Diner was AMAZING. The food was so good, the pancakes were definitely my favourite and honestly worth going back for alone. The chicken tenders were also really good (just be warned they come out hot lol). The milkshake was fabulous too.
Our server was so sweet and even told us the story behind the restaurant, which made the whole experience feel really special and cute. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable and has such a cozy vibe.
I would 100% go back, especially for the pancakes and milkshake. Definitely make a reservation if you’re planning to go for breakfast or dinner because it gets busy!
A fun menu to try Asian inspired brunchy items. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity off food. Service was excellent. Our party of five ordered many shareables including sandwiches as well. Plan ahead as resos need to be secured more than two weeks in advance. Standouts were the mapo tofu on corn chips and pancakes served so fresh, hot, crispy and fluffy. Everything was good!
Finally got to try out this spot after so long. I came here on a Friday morning, no wait. My friend had been here before but we wanted to servers to provide recommendations and they did a great job.
We had the filet-o-shrimp and was recommended the tuna melt and pancakes. The filet-o-shrimp tasted like a delish Japanese sando with their twist of changing up the bread and adding the cheese. While the tuna melt had chips inside that balanced out Japanese tartar sauce. Now the pancake, even though it says lemon, it’s not heavy which I really liked. Their pancake was delicious and super crispy on the edges.
I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu but will always reorder the pancake cause it left me wanting more.

We had a great brunch experience definitely worth the hype (and the line!) with our walk-in.
The food was incredible, fresh, flavourful, and perfectly presented. My favourites were the Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich and the Tuna Melt. Definitely coming back!

Braved a snow storm this morning and hiked to this amazing place.
Impeccable service, cute vibes and a whole lot of amazing food. Guys, you can feeeel the love and care that goes into each dish.
We tried the pancakes (obviously!) , the big breakfast sandwich and the chicken wings ( underrated but please try it). Everything tasted so good and fresh. Our server ( apologies I couldn’t get her name) was so kind and we had such a good conversation with her. We weren’t rushed and we enjoyed our meal to the core.
They also have a dinner service now and we can’t wait to try that.
Shoutout to the amazing staff at Susie’s ❤️❤️

My friends and I had brunch here today, and I loved the modern diner vibes and Asian-fusion dishes!
The staff were so warm and friendly. They seemed just genuinely happy, and open to engaging in conversation with us while we waited for our table, even though it was busy.
I had the big trouble breakfast sandwich and the filet o shrimp sandwich. I liked both, but the breakfast sandwich was my favourite. The milk bread was so soft and fresh, and it was the perfect fusion of flavours (savoury, with some sweetness) and textures (soft bread, crisp hashbrown). The banana pudding was good, but could've used more banana slices (there were only 2 to 3 pieces in the entire bowl).
Overall, I would definitely dine here again! Also, the early 2000s millennial playlist was the cherry on top!

Susie’s Diner absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we sat down, our server Kat was incredibly attentive, warm, and welcoming. She took the time to guide us through the menu, and every recommendation she made was amazing.
We ordered the pancakes, Big Trouble breakfast sandwich, tuna melt, and banana pudding-everything was outstanding. The portions were generous, the quality was top-tier, and the overall experience was flawless.
Amazing food and standout service. If you’re looking for the best breakfast in the city, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a really good dinner! Beyond the great food, the service was fantastic overall—everyone from the management to the serving staff was sweet and attentive. A special shout-out to our server, Lila P, easy to deal with, and made the whole meal run smoothly.
Three dishes in particular stood out and are definitely worth ordering:
• Tokyo Caesar: This was a nice surprise. A refreshing and flavorful salad that's a good alternative to the standard Caesar.
• Breakfast Fried Rice: A comforting and hearty dish. The crispy fried shallots on top added a great texture that elevated it.
• Banana Pudding: It was the perfect rich, sweet finish to the meal.
We also had the Susie's Hot Chicken Tenders and some drinks, which were perfectly fine. Highly recommend the dishes above, and the excellent staff made the experience even better!
I think I’ve found my new favourite brunch spot in Toronto. I had checked out the menu a few months ago and loved how it blended Asian-inspired dishes with classic brunch favourites. I made a noon reservation on a weekday, and I’m glad I did — the restaurant was already packed when we arrived.
The general manager, Liben, greeted us with such warmth and made us feel so welcome. Since it was our first visit, he even offered us a coveted window seat, which was such a thoughtful touch.
We ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Wings, Jade Garden Salad, Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich, a side of hash browns, and the Banana Pudding for dessert. We asked for everything to come out as it was ready, but impressively, all the dishes arrived around the same time — and everything was perfect.
The wings stayed crunchy, juicy, and tangy to the last bite. The salad had an amazing mix of textures with the rice puffs and creamy guacamole base. The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich was a masterpiece — layers of fluffy eggs, char siu–glazed sausage, and a crispy hash brown, all nestled inside a soft milk scallion bun that was the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. The hash browns themselves were like crispy, golden square fries — seriously addictive.
Finally, the Banana Pudding was rich, creamy, and loaded with banana pieces. My only wish was for a bit more cake inside, though the crumble on top was fantastic.
The service was outstanding — every team member was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Liben also mentioned they recently started dinner service, which I’m already planning to try.
If you’re looking for a creative brunch in Toronto that delivers on flavour, service, and atmosphere, this place deserves to be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be back for both brunch and dinner!
The food is fantastic and offers a wide variety of options, but the most impressive thing about this place is the quality of service. From the management team to the staff, they have a welcoming a fun atmosphere that makes you feel at home.
We got to try their new dinner menu and it did not disappoint. Favourite dishes were the cod, calamari, and wasabi fries. Dessert was also to die for!!
Looking forward to going back for brunch soon! Thanks for the great experience, Susie’s!
I’d definitely recommend reserving ahead — walk-ins were waiting at least an hour and a half when we arrived. I’m so glad we had a reservation because our table was ready almost right away.
The menu is quite limited, but the options they do have are solid. As a vegetarian, I swapped the sausage for avocado (which came with an extra charge). The hash browns were easily my favorite part of the meal — perfectly crispy! I also loved the banana pudding, which was such a nice finish.
Service was great overall, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. I just wish there were a few more vegetarian-friendly choices on the menu — that would definitely bring me back more often. Otherwise, a really nice spot for brunch if you plan ahead!
Unreal food. We tried a bunch of items with a bigger group - Big Trouble Sandwich, Tuna Melt, Shrimp Sando, Pancakes, Buffalo Chicken Wings, Hashbrowns, Caesar Salad, Banana Pudding. Surprisingly our favourite dishes were the Buffalo Chicken Wings - the sauce on this was sooo good, the hashbrowns - so crispy, and the Caesar salad. Banana Pudding is definitely the best in the city. Pancakes were obviously really good as well! Will 100% be back to try the other menu items and dinner!!
Great service, lovely diner vibes. The food has a lot of asian influences and it shines through particularly with the Big Trouble breakfast sandwich. With it's pillowy soft green onion milk bun and savory-sweet char siu glazed sausage patty, this sandwich is well worth the price.
Only caveat is if you're coming for breakfast/brunch, they only have French press coffee available, so don't expect any barista-pulled espresso, but it still does the trick.
Beautiful diner, friendly service, but for the price, it just didn't wow us.
The strawberry pocky milkshake had a nice consistency and a nostalgic flavor.
The hash browns were wonderfully seasoned and perfectly crispy.
The pancakes definitely live up to the hype. We just wish it came as a 3 stack! 7.50 per a pancake is a bit steep.
There wasn't anything particularly special about the shrimp sandwich and the tuna melt. We found the mayo to be a tad overpowering, so we couldn't really taste the tuna. The shrimp sandwich was a bit too salty for our liking.
The breakfast sandwich was the best sandwich out of all. Nice pillowy soft bun with a unique Asian twist. However, it would be nice if each main came with a small side! Whether it be some greens, fruit, or a few potatoes. Yes, most of the dishes are more than okay, but for the price, you're expecting a bit more.
Honestly, the highlight of the meal was probably the banana pudding. This was the best we've had in the city.
Georgia took care of us, and she was great.
I don't think we'll be coming back, but it was definitely worth a try!
It also gets really loud inside the diner! Just a heads-up if you're a bit sensitive to noise.
