Lamanna's Bakery
Neighbourhood bakeshop offering traditional Italian sweets & coffees, plus deli sandwiches.
Service 3/10 (ladies at pastry/dessert section were rude), if they chose to display all items without description and price at least train your staff to do better!
Pizza 9/10
Lobster Tail 6/10 (crunchy but not flaky)
Pistachio Tiramisu, chocolate eclair 7/10
Banana Pie 6/10 (minimal banana flavor, tart shell also underwhelming)
I'm a local that lives down on Sheppard been here before but never had the time to review the place. Had the Pizza and Lasagna here before; the staff are friendly and the food is great. I was there earlier in the week, to pick a cake for my birthday and I decided to get the Strawberry Sfoglia (shortcake but with just sponge and no pastry) and a few mini cheesecakes. Nice visual appeal, not too sweet, very rich, well balanced and tasty. Will definitely stop in again for eats in the future. 👍🏾
1st time at Lamanna Bakery. We bought the Margherita pizza the size of Canada, barely fit thru the door. We also got some lasagna, arancini's, pastries. Very good quality food from a respected Italian bakery. And if you're on date, the food is date safe. No problems fooling around after, niente scoreggia ! You'll feel like a champ eating at Lamanna !
10/10 quality. Si mangia bene al Lamanna !
Best place for lasagna and arancini and you won’t leave hungry!
The lasagna is a generous size and extra saucy and comes with a bite of bread!
You can always enjoy the pizza 🍕 it’s not too oily or too salty. Lots of cheese and filling
Then there are the mountains for desserts which always puts a smile on my face! Gelato is great in the summer and is great as it can get really for in the store! I am excited for their expansion! It looks like they are expanding to the store beside them which means more space !
Lamanna’s Bakery was added in our Must Visit list and we finally understand why during our first visit!
They have a huge selection of Italian pastries and gelato, freshly made. Please don’t skip or leave without tasting at least their Bomboloni. Their Tiramisu is also good! We’ll definetely be back to try out more.
The pizza slices, on the other hand, looks amazing, but the Magherita slice just didn’t make it for us… Unfortunately, the sauce was
bland and lacked in favour. However, the pizza slices had the perfect texture and amount of cheese — very generous portions, great to share amongst others. Would probably try a different flavour next time.
As a vegetarian option, their vegetarian lasagna is highly recommended… very filling and yet again, generous portions, and great service from the staff to ask us if we wanted extra sauce.
I appreciate the different queue lines created for savoury and sweet foods — it’s time efficient instead of having just one line.
Although we were able to find a spot, there is little seating available.
I ordered the “Big Slice Chocolate Birthday Cake” and was really excited to try it. When I got the cake, it looked cute and well-presented.
Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The cake was overly dense and extremely sweet — so much so that no one at the party could eat more than a bite. The sweetness was overwhelming and didn’t taste balanced or enjoyable. You could feel the crunch of undissolved sugar between your teeth.
It was especially frustrating because this was for a birthday celebration, and we couldn’t enjoy the cake as we had hoped.
I had been looking forward to trying other Big Slice items like their pizza and more, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be giving it another try.
Finally got lobster tails! So huge.
Totally get why it's been popular for so long.
It smells amazing when you walk in.
The line moves fast.
Got lobster tails and gelato and couple of other things but highly recommend these two also chocolate cake which was divine.
From the cakes and pastries to the pizza and sandwiches, this port union staple is always a great option for any kind of appetite. We love coming here. The worst part is that it’s so busy all the time so lines are typical. Hence something good awaits!
In a past lifetime I lived around the corner from Lamanna's and used to go there a couple of times a month. Since moving out of the area, my visits are pretty much yearly. My go-tos have always been sfogliatele (lobster tails) and cannolis. I usually manage to convince myself to pick up some other sweet that catches my eye.
There are a variety of hot items to choose from (pizza slices, lasagna and veal sandwiches) I have never tried them in all my visits.
The bakery is always busy and lines are usually long when I'm visiting, the staff are friendly and keep the lines moving quickly.
There are many house made items but I usually see a Dufflet or LaRocca van unloading as well, so they are supplementing their offerings with outside items as well.
I am always impressed by the flavours, quality and freshness of the items we bring home, we'll be customers long into the future.
This was my first visit to Lamanna's Bakery thanks to a friend's recommendation that we meet there and I loved it!
I immediately loved the atmosphere walking in and seeing the different stations for pizza, hot table, baked goods and gelato. I was in Italian heaven!
To start I just had a mint tea with a Portuguese custard tart which was fresh and delicious. We sat at the front window area and there was a constant line up for ordering. The staff was all nice who I chatted with. Big thanks to Ashley for happily answering lots of questions I had about the gorgeous looking pizzas!
I also loved the beautiful graphic design of their boxes I saw people carrying out. Some were huge and must have had cakes in them!
I got a pepperoni slice to go and it was fantastic! Thin crust and so delicious! It tasted like authentic recipe from Italy and want to know specifically where.
I am eager to return for more pizza and their hot table for lasagna and meatballs!
Absolutely love Lamanna’s!! Probably one of the best bakeries I have been too. Their pistachio tiramisu is 10/10. All of their pastries are honestly a 10/10! The meat lasagna is amazing but they stopped giving out the focaccia bread with it which was disappointing. Nonetheless, the quality is always amazing. However, be prepared to wait in line for a bit as they are always pretty busy.
I've been a patron of Lamannas for some time now, after being told about it by a coworker. Lamannas never disappoints. It was once a hidden gem on the edge of scarborough and pickering, but since it was featured on the food network, it is always busy. I really appreciate that they survived the covid pandemic. Today I had a veal on a kaiser and some carrot cake and cheese cake. They can always be counted on for both sweet and savory delights.
Lamanna's, located on the Scarborough side of the border with Pickering, has been around for many years, serving up some good Italian food, unique pizzas, and some decadent pastries.
I dropped in for lunch recently and had their Meat Lasagna. It was a very generous serving and a pretty good value at only $10.99, with bread. I got the last slice in the pan so my server piled on the sauce and cheese. Yummm!
On past visits, I've had their veal, pizza, and pastries. Everything has been very good. If you haven't tried their food, you've got to treat yourself!
