Richmond Station is located at 1 Richmond St W in Toronto , ON and serves great food and drinks in Toronto
Richmond Station is a neighbourhood restaurant. We grew up with a passion for those romantic neighbourhood spots where you could reliably grab a bite to eat once a month, two nights in a row or whenever the fridge was bare. A neighbourhood spot means the owners are around most days, the staff maintain their position for years and there’s too many familiar faces to really just “be in and out”. Your favourite items never leave the menu and if they do, the chef wants to make it for you all the same
Our son and his wife got married at Richmond Station. Everything was top shelf, yet so relaxed and easy! The food was mostly appetizers and extremely varied....we definitely got full! My favorite was the seafood bar....until they put out the roast pork and started making super yummy rice/pork/raisin/hoisin lettuce wraps: then THAT was my favorite. The desserts, as well as the cake bar, was over the top....which is what my tummy did over my belt afterwards. The staff was lovely and engaging.
I also really appreciated that there were designated Male/Female washrooms.
Highly recommended!!
I was in Toronto on a business trip, had a few hours free at lunch time and decided to treat myself at Richmond Station. I asked for a table in a quiet spot. They let me sit by the window so I could watch people pass by while I relaxed.
I ordered a lighter thing: a seasonal salad to start, then a fish dish that was on special. It came beautifully plated — you could tell that someone in the kitchen took pride in the look as much as the taste. The fish was flaky and fresh, accompanied by vegetables that weren’t overcooked. The salad had good seasonal greens, a sharp dressing that cut through nicely.
The service was excellent. My water was refilled without me asking, the server checked in to see how the food was, made small but kind suggestions for dessert or coffee. I had a cup of coffee at the end and just lingered a bit, enjoying that calm moment in the middle of a busy day.
I left feeling glad I treated myself. Sometimes when you’re alone, it’s nice to have a place where the food, the service, and the ambiance all feel like they’re working together to make you feel good. Richmond Station did that.
The Chef's Table is definitely a not to be missed dining experience if you appreciate innovative, fresh, perfectly executed dishes and wine pairings. Linda is such an exceptional sommelier, she also pairs non-alcoholic drinks with the same acumen. The staff are all talented and prepare each dish as a work of art from the heart.
Reservations are recommended.
This was, without exaggeration, the best meal of my life.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with the tasting menu and drink pairing on the Chefs Table. and it was an absolute explosion of flavours. I felt just like Remy from Ratatouille, combining everything on my palate and realizing how perfectly it all made sense together.
The restaurant truly deserve a Michelin star, every award, and every possible recognition.
I can’t wait to come back.
Delightful night out at brilliant restaurant.. Nothing to fault really. Food, staff, wine, service all excellent. We had the chef tasting menu and paired wines. The food is delicious and there is enough food that you don't leave hungry. The standouts for me was the 72 hour cooked beef and the melon sorbet. The wines are thoughtfully matched and compliment the food nicely. It's a mix of local and imported wine. The sommelier was both informative and knowledgeable.
It was Saturday night in the restaurant was full which is an indicator to the quality.
We sat in front of the kitchen which is always entertaining to watch.
We visited this restaurant 3 times in our 8 day stay! It is one of the reasons we love coming to Toronto. The food is amazing. Your staff are amazing. The atmosphere generated is lively and welcoming. On one of the nights we had the taster menu and loved it! A great variety of dishes and we managed to get all the way through to dessert!
The mushroom starter is delicious and the tomato salad is a winner!
We will be back, well done to everyone for being brilliant. Special mention to Jade and Emily who were so bubbly and enthusiastic when serving our food! And our last dessert still makes me smile!
Service was excellent, fast and attentive, and hospitality was included in the prices. Prices were not too bad considering tips were built in. Overall, food was good but not great. Had the beef tartar which was good with crispy potatoes. Arctic char was good with corn succotash, perhaps needed some crispy things. Chocolate tart had good flavor, but perhaps too much gelatin.
What a spectacular experience overall. The food was amazing and well presented. Great variety of food. Server was amazing and attentive to our needs. The dessert was spectacular because who would have thought lemon sponge, coconut Chantilly, blueberry jam and basil sorbet could taste so good. Mind bogglingly good conclusion to an extraordinarily good meal. We will be back!!!!!
We can to Richmond Station for a meal as part of our honeymoon. Really good food, plenty to choose from on the menu.
Staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back!
Some reviewers have mention being a bit close to other tables. This is the case, but it’s not offensively close, perhaps a little closer than I would normally prefer.
We went for the Six Course Chef’s Tasting Menu as a family since I owed them a big favour recently. The menu probably changes with the seasons so I won’t get into every detail, but what really stood out was how thoughtfully each course was prepared and how approachable the flavors were. Even someone not familiar with Western fine dining would find it enjoyable.
My mom usually sticks with Asian cuisine, so I was a little nervous about how she would take it. Watching her finish every plate, even down to the last drop of sauce, honestly made me smile the whole evening. The service added to it too. The servers were warm and attentive, and when I saw her make the effort to express her gratitude to them directly, I knew we were in the right place.
For a first experience with a tasting menu like this, Richmond Station feels like the perfect spot. It goes beyond just being “delicious” and becomes a shared memory. The dining room was full, but everyone seemed happy and relaxed, and that energy made the night feel even more special.
Richmond Station is now where I’d start if I ever wanted to introduce someone new to this kind of dining.
4.5 stars. Tried the chef’s menu in June. Food was overall tasty, fairly priced for what it is ($129 pp). Understand the menu is seasonal in nature but was a bit too much asparagus for my taste. Bread was one of my favourite dishes. Service was fabulous as expected.
We had a semi private dining area (no extra charge) as we had a larger group, which made the night extra special! Would come back for special occasions.
This is hands down one of the best Western cuisine restaurants in downtown Toronto. I had the honour of attending my brother’s wedding reception here, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The menu is unique and creative, yet everything works together harmoniously.
The duck and the burger are absolute must-tries, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Dessert was also fantastic. Next time, I’d love to come with a large group so we can try a variety of dishes and really maximize the experience. Service was outstanding from start to finish. I’ll definitely be visiting again.
Had an amazing time here. We were celebrating a birthday too! They had placed a nice birthday card on the table too!
Food was amazing!!! All
the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were able to have a tour of the kitchen too! Had a wonderful time here. Hope to come back soon. Highly recommend!
