The food was amazing! The menu is quite small, which makes it easy to order. They also have rotating specials that keep things fresh and interesting. Their ice cream is a real treat—I tried the mango flavor, and it didn’t disappoint.

My only complaint is that we were seated inside and the AC was off. It got pretty warm with so many people around.

Dotty’s is the perfect neighborhood comfort diner - Aside from serving the best French fries I’ve ever had, the service is top-notch and friendly, the bustling atmosphere is welcoming and all of the food is perfectly prepared.

It’s elevated comfort/diner food that will just make you feel happy and glad you came in. The fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Caesar salad is stacked high and adorned with a perfect dressing, crispy croutons and a ton of salty cheese. The steak is simply seasoned and seared perfectly. The spicy chicken sandwich is like a blue plate special on steroids with a mild kick of heat and heaps of flavour.

On our first visit we had the fish dish and cheeseburger - these represent the two extremes of what you can expect at Dotty’s: the fish is perfectly cooked and accompanied by an elegant sauce and served with inventive ways of preparing vegetables while the cheeseburger is about as simple as it gets yet there’s a sauce or condiment that makes it stand out amongst the sea of burgers out there.

Everything was really flavourful, steak had a pretty good cook but was the only thing that wasn’t great. Had a tuna tonnato dish (not pictured) that was the standouts along with the cooked fish main.

I’ve been here four (actually many more) times, and loved it each time. Dotty’s is consistently good. A beautiful simple no-nonsense meal with quality ingredients and prepared with care. Prices are very fair and service is wonderful! A great neighbourhood gem. Highly recommend the squid, so good I ordered two! The aged steak is always so perfectly cooked and full of flavour, pickerel beautiful, Thai pork belly was meltingly sticky and tender, new wedge salad gorgeous! Run, don’t walk to Dotty’s… go early if you want a table! And I forgot, the soft serve is a must order if you have room, big enough for sharing and a deal at $10. Thank you Dotty’s for another wonderful evening!
Update: four months later and we’ve been coming back with family and friends. Menu sometimes changes slightly but always consistent and deliciously good. Came to try the cheeseburger but didn’t get a photo as we all inhaled it. It’s incredible! Juicy, tender, full of flavour. We love Dotty’s! Thank you chef Jay and team!
Updated June 13/24: Always fun spurr-of-the-moment place for dinner. Always nice to be greeted by same staff and owners. Our family’s favourite because it feels like home, and food again just simple but good! Fish always amazing with veg, thanks again Jay and team for a fun evening.
Updated July 9/24: delicious pickerel with fennel, dessert is mango softserve with raspberry sauce, and light-as-air, no-bake cheesecake with blueberry sauce. Omg soooo good! Thanks again for a wonderful dinner!

I love this place. The menu is simple but delicious. We always order the Caesar salad, which is perfectly made. The cocktail menu is good and very well presented. I’ve tried the burger, which is excellent, and the chicken sandwich, which I also highly recommend. The service is efficient and friendly. While the prices aren’t cheap, I think they’re reasonable for the quality they offer. The portions are a bit on the smaller side, though. Overall, Dotty’s is definitely a great spot to eat in Toronto.

Reasonably priced for Toronto with stellar food and cocktails. Unfortunately the fries are not consistent from visit to visit. Service is always a bit too casual and not detail-oriented. The best cheeseburger, steak, Caesar salad, spicy chicken sandwich, and much more!
