The Comrade
Finally tried the famous prime rib burger and it absolutely lived up to the hype — juicy, rich, and so satisfying. The Comrade has such a dark, cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a date night or intimate dinner. Definitely a Leslieville staple worth visiting.

Great place to relax and hang out. No pressure. Just a great overall atmosphere, great drinks and beautiful staff.
Elizabeth took extra special care of me and my boys. If only I had snapped a photo of the Key Lime Pie. Yes, it's their only dessert and yes it is good. However, if you want the blow your socks off experience the Key Lime Pie requires you to have, order a cocktail.
You'll have to ask Elizabeth for the recommendation because it was a buddies cocktail I "had to try" and now can't remember what my cocktail experience was. But I suspect any cocktail will give you the punch you need.
Had a great time late night. Met some people at another table. Fun was had.
Sorry no photos. Guess I need to go back.
My friend and I passed by here on a Wednesday evening. Overall, the ambiance is really nice. Love the cozy dark vibe they have going on. We ordered the 3 cheese snack to share, and I got the staring at the sun drink. The 3 cheese was ok, don’t really think it was worth the $27. The presentation also could have been a bit better. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but started to get better at the end, just took a while for us to put in our order. Overall, I don’t think I’d go out of my way to return.

I went here for dinner for a date night with the hubby and really enjoyed it. The ambience is moody, warm and inviting, and it definitely gets busy, which adds to the lively atmosphere. The burger was incredible, cooked perfectly and full of flavour, and the drinks were just as good. A great place to spend an evening out.
Great place for drinks on the patio. The vibe inside is very dark but cozy. Food and drinks were delicious. The burger is a must have. A good all around juicy burger. We also had the beef tartar and eggplant katsu. Menu changes weekly so there's always new things to try. Glad I was able to check out this spot as we don't usually find ourselves that far east of downtown.

4.5 / 5. Great vibe. Chill crowd but very diverse. Has an eclectic vibe with stuffed animals on the walls, a designer ceiling and brick walls. All wood bar.
Has a relaxed, but up pace vibe. I wish I lived beside it and stopped in once a week for life kind of energy.
Polite staff and bartender was a pro. Cocktails are sensational (menu has about 7 staples) and not like cosmos or martinis (you can get those too). Drinks were complex, fun and so flavourful.
I don’t eat, but the menu was super tempting. Well run. Interesting East Toronto. Area.

It's not a big menu but the steak frits was delicious 😋. Great vibe and good drinks if you're looking for a great place to meet up before a concert at the Opera House across the street. Pic was just as they opened, 15 mins later it was full. Service was great and friendly.
We were looking for a place to satisfy our late-night hunger and stumbled upon a cozy yet dim restaurant. The lighting was very dark, making it hard to read the menu. Especially with the menu font and design. The prices seemed a tad pricey at small portion sizes. The prime rib burger was great tho. Nonetheless, the service was decent, and it's a great spot to hangout with friends and get some drinks.
A small shot with good cocktails, but a very limited menu. 5 people, two not drinking, three had a single drink. All had a plate of food. Very small plates and servings. $180 before tip.
The burger was good. The beef tartare not so much. One person in our group waited for their meal until we had all finished.
Disappointing.
A small bar and restaurant on the east side of Toronto (Riverside-Leslieville just east of the Don Valley Parkway). Great ambiance... dark and mostly candlelit... with friendly service and excellent food! We tried 5 different smaller shared appetizers/plates... all were great! Many funky/exotic drinks as well as regular ones! Highly recommended! Various other cool bars nearby for barhopping!
I just moved to the neighbourhood and while walking to work the sign for Happy Hour $2 oysters and $10 cocktails caught my eye. I went for happy hour with a few friends and stayed the whole night. Fantastic oysters (perfect size), well made cocktails and delicious jamon iberico and manchego toast. Great ambiance, nice staff. Will be going a lot.
I am not usually looking for a burger for dinner, but I must say that their sirloin burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had. My companion also had the burger and we shared house made thyme chips. Outstanding! Drinks were great, decor is warm and comfortable and service was perfect. Highly r commended.
Fantastic venue for Friday night drinks and dinner. Comrade has a unique decor with taxidermy all over the walls and very little lighting.
We ordered the thyme potato crisps, which were very addictive. For mains, I went with the Tuna Tostadas - perfect portion size and tasted great.
We all had food envy when our friend’s burger came to the table - looked so delicious and according to my friend, it did!
The steak tartare and deviled eggs are also recommended.
Decently priced and cool vibe - would go back again
