The Queen & Beaver Public House is located at 35 Elm St in Toronto , ON and serves great food and drinks in Toronto
We had been for drinks on the previous night and sat in the upstairs bar the lady who looked after us was outstanding and on that night the service was excellent.
The following night we decided to eat and went into the establishment to try to get a table. Upon entry we were looked at (not greeted) by a member of staff with a beard ( never asked his name). I asked if there was a table for two available he said he only had a downstairs table, but did not indicate any table. My associate asked if we could wait at the bar upstairs until a table became available, he snapped back and said he had already told us there was no availability and proceeded to say in or out make your mind up then pushed me aside. I said to forget it and he said well leave, I swore back. The man sounded Irish but I could be wrong, he was clearly having a bad night but with that attitude should not be working in hospitality, poor attitude and rude, avoid this place.
Had the pleasure of visiting twice for dinner during our recent stay in Toronto. Christine went above and beyond to make our experience extra special.
Food was great (burger/salad, sausage roll, yorkie, chips) atmosphere was pleasant, and service was superb.
HUGE thank you to Christine for making it a wonderful visit despite a very difficult day. ❤️
We were walking past looking for someone to eat and fell in this pub.
Lively ambient atmosphere in the restaurant with kind service.
Husband had a pie, daughter had fish and chips, son had burger and I had the burratta tomato salad with toasted sourdough.
Not a drop left on any plate and I can honestly say the salad was just the most delicious thing had eaten all week on holiday
Thank you
Great old-style British pub with a fantastic beer selection and a welcoming atmosphere. We stopped by during the Champions League Final and, despite the place being completely packed, the service was still friendly and surprisingly fast.
We had the fish and chips and the burger, and both were very good. The menu was excellent overall, although it was missing a few classic pub snack options. The beer selection definitely made up for it.
A great spot to watch sports, enjoy a pint, and have some quality pub food. We’d happily come back.

I'm giving this place 4.5 out of 5, the service and the ambiance were great and I really enjoyed my Sunday roast and the gravy was excellent. I was really excited to try the fish and chips and someone said they were the best in the city. I was a little disappointed in them, definitely not the best I've had in the city. The batter was good but the fish was a bit stinky, maybe just a one off I'll give it a try again and update

An amazing pub/restaurant. Upstairs bar/lounge is so comfortable and friendly. Staff, Christine (super helpful with our travel arrangements), Emma and 'Josh'? were very welcoming and super attentive. And OMG the food is to die for. Thank you Q&B for making our trip to Toronto so special.

So this place had been recommended by a blogger and we thought why not .
Got a small table in the bar downstairs and ordered the burger and chips . What could go wrong you ask ?
Well the burger was fine but the chips were cremated . A few were edible so we had those and didn’t make a fuss . The music was loud and the atmosphere good , although don’t know where the bar part was , maybe upstairs .
When the server cleared our table we commented that all was well apart from the burnt fries . He said he’d tell our waitress , Now a blind man could spot the charred remains … anyway when our waitress arrived with the bill we mentioned this to her as well . She more or less said that we should have mentioned this earlier and proceeded to give us our bill . In other words , suck it up . Now we weren’t expecting a grovelling apology but even a half hearted sorry would have sufficed . To add insult to injury , we added the tip .
Needless to say , we will not be returning and have warned others .
I had a fantastic experience at The Queen and Beaver Public House and can’t wait to return. This beautiful building houses an intimate atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
What We Ordered
The fish and chips were excellent—crispy batter and flaky fish cooked to perfection. My companion had the bangers and mash, which was hearty and delicious, exactly what you’d hope for from proper British pub fare. We enjoyed amazing beer from the ale cask, which really elevated the whole dining experience. For dessert, we shared a wonderful toffee pudding that was the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
The Experience
The atmosphere was absolutely great—cozy and intimate without feeling cramped. The building itself is gorgeous, with authentic pub details that transport you to a traditional British gastropub. Everything from the food to the drinks to the setting came together perfectly.
I’ll definitely be going back again one day. If you’re looking for authentic British cuisine in a welcoming, beautiful setting, The Queen and Beaver is well worth a visit.
We had a few nice drinks in this venue on 12/3/26 and the staff were lovely, I asked the manager if they would be showing the Ireland -V- Scotland 6 nations game on the 14/3/26. I was told yes and just to turn up at 9.45am and we could get in, no problem.
Roll on 14/3/26 we arrive only to be met by a difficult person on the door who refused us entry. We explaind what the MANAGER had told us but that person did not care. I would never go back to this place nor would I recommend it.
Stopped into this cute authentic British public house by accident. What a great place. We were seated in the dining hall near the bar by a nice young Irish fellow. Our server, a pleasant young lady took our order and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Originally just ordered a beer, but decided to stay for lunch. I had the Bacon and egg Butty. This was a bit messy to eat, but fantastic. The chips are great! And they make their own spicy ketchup. Finished up with a sticky toffee pudding. This did not disappoint, just like in the UK! With service, food and ambience like that, I will definitely return. Highly recommend.

Queen and Beaver was quiet when we arrived, then quickly filled up with a great buzz. We were seated in the front parlour room, which felt cozy and welcoming. Service was exceptionally quick and professional; drinks arrived fast and the food was on point. Staff were attentive throughout. The happy hour menu offers a nice balance of drinks and food options. Fish and chips were excellent, and the pork chops were perfectly cooked. A wonderful spot to enjoy good food with good friends.
