GG's
Was heading to Boardwalk and was stopping by Toronto Beach Club for a quick bite whilst enjoying the view. Actually, I was needing my afternoon Tim Hortons ☕️(located on the other side of plaza which I didn't know) before going on a ride, but she was hungry.
Eventhough my friend recommended her go to juicy and crispy Hot Nashville Chicken sandwich, I opted try "signature" 🍔 GG'S Burger. Definitely, I would say after taking a bite of her's it was much better, mine was dry. The fries hot and crispy.
Was greeted immediately and service was fast and friendly. They smash patties then add secret sauce, all put between two sesame buns.
Pricing was fair being conveniently located by Woodbine Beach, however I wouldnt rave about it.
I used to eat here often and genuinely loved the Nashville chicken burger, it used to come as a proper fried chicken piece with that signature Nashville seasoning, good fillings, and the right crunch.
But my recent visit was honestly a letdown. Instead of the usual, we got what looked like a tiny, mass-produced patty more like something you’d see in frozen food aisles. The chicken was oddly kebab-like, a bit burnt, dripping oil (not the flavorful Nashville hot oil as they liked to pass it as, just greasy oil), and topped with a bland red pepper cheese spread??? that tasted nothing like proper Nashville sauce. Add in one pickle and a smear of mayo in the center, and that was it. All for $15.
When we mentioned this to the person who made it, he offered to reduce the seasoning and remake it but the issue wasn’t the spice level at all. They didn’t seem to want to accept that there was a problem which is expected. I love spicy food and I know what a Nashville burger should be. Most of all I know what I have eaten at this same place few months ago. This just wasn’t it.
My partner’s chicken burger was no better – another thin, generic patty that felt frozen and lifeless. I ended up eating just the bun to justify the $15, then threw out the filling. You can even see in the attached picture how much oil pooled out of the burger, and it wasn’t the good kind.
GG Burgers used to be my go-to for Nashville, but after this experience, sadly, not anymore. Really hope they go back to their original quality, because what they’re serving now feels like a completely different (and much cheaper) product.
Used to sell smash burgers that were good. So I ordered a double burger. But they switched to generic frozen burger patties so it made for a ridiculous super thick burger that was not good. Not sure why it's still an option on their menu. The fries were okay - hot and salty. Also used to sell Tahiti Treat but that's gone too. There's also crap all over the place inside. Miss the old GG's.
Dropped in for the first time while walking in the beach area. Was greeted immediately and service was fast and friendly! We had the grilled chicken burger and it was super tasty with crispy lettuce and fresh tomato and pickle and a ranch sauce. The bun was fresh and very tasty as well. The area was very clean and there was a bar type seating area inside and also a nice patio outside. Excellent overall experience and I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area or at the beach. Thank you!
Came here with my friends and had a great time. The staff was attentive and friendly. I got the regular hamburger add it was a bit on the dry side so I think I should have gotten the cheeseburger, but it was still quite good. The fries were perfectly fried and salted, hot and crispy. The highlight for me was the chicken burger though. Wow it was one of the best burgers I've had. It was really juicy yet crispy, perfectly seasoned. Would come again just for that. Highly recommended.
