Sunset Grill is located at 1 Richmond St W in Toronto , ON and serves great food and drinks in Toronto
Came here with some friends to grab a quick bite, and got the California eggs Benny with a cappuccino. The cappuccino was fairly good, and the eggs benny were alright, though nothing too impressive. The paprika was nice at least.
The home fries that came with the eggs though were lukewarm and somehow hard. I don’t think they were undercooked, but they were just tough, like they had already been cooked up then stuck in the fridge to harden up, and were not fully reheated. They were effectively inedible which was disappointing.
Additionally, our waitress basically abandoned us in our corner of the restaurant and didn’t come back for a long time after we had finished eating, when we were ready for our bills and also had other events that morning we had to attend. One in our party got up to ask another waitress to get our waitress for us, and even after that it was still another 10-15 minutes of waiting. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, maybe only a few groups stretched across the whole restaurant.
All in all, the experience was fairly mediocre. I don’t know if I would return, though if I did I’d have something that didn’t involve the home fries, and would also not come under a time limit.
Sunset is generally a diner with a largely breakfast menu along with lunch items. The menu offers good variety and reasonable prices. The ambience is bright and busy and not too noisy. It was comfortable despite the weather. The service was prompt and attentive and payment can be made by card at your table. I had a salad and was quite satisfied and will return to try their omelets or other breakfast item. I had a good experience on a very cold Toronto day.
I stopped in at Sunset Grill and really enjoyed my breakfast. The deluxe hot chocolate was amazing. It came with a big mountain of whipped cream and sprinkles on top, and it tasted as good as it looked. Sweet, cozy, and perfect for a cold day.
The avocado toast was loaded with toppings. Thick toast with lots of avocado, tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, and red onion. It was fresh and filling, not one of those tiny fancy toasts. If you like strong flavors, you’ll love it.
I also had the eggs Florentine. I didn’t get a picture of it, but it was tasty and comforting, exactly what you want from a breakfast plate.
Overall, the food looked great and tasted great. It’s a nice spot if you want a breakfast that feels a bit special and not rushed.
This restaurant was, by far, the best one we dined at while In Fredericksburg. Both the service and the food were first rate. Our party was 2 couples. Each of us ordered something different and were very impressed with our entrees. We would recommend this place to anyone seeking a truly good place to eat in Fredericksburg
This has always been my favorite breakfast restaurant in Toronto. Food is consistently fresh, the service is timely and the staff are friendly. The dining options seem endless. There is something for everyone no matter what your preferences or dietary needs are. This is why I always keep coming back

Great spot nestled comfortably conveniently on Richmond Street close to shops and businesses.
The place is spacey, clean and very comfortable. You're definitely want to hang out for a few hours and enjoy the great food, great company and excellent customer service.
I had the pancakes, sausages, bacon, orange juice and delicious coffee.
So if you're in the mood for some great breakfast then look no further than Sunset Grill!
Enjoy! Your taste buds will be very happy you have chosen Sunset Grill. Also fabulous customer service!
Dined at Sunset Grill on a Monday and ordered a Salmon Eggs Sunset. It's basically eggs benedict but there wasn't anything overly special about it. Home fries were a bit disappointing and was not on the crispy side. Service here was fast and we are also here in and out quickly. It can get a little busy inside around brunch time on a weekday and prices here are affordable. There are no reservations allowed so walk-in only. They are open super early for breakfast.
I love coming to Sunset Grill on the weekends. The vibe is relaxed, and the menu has something for everyone. I tried the avocado toast with poached eggs this time. Light, healthy, and packed with flavor. Service was quick even though it was busy. Highly recommend for a casual brunch with friends or family.
For my girls trip we wanted breakfast everyday but with Carnival Ha! We never made it. However, we wanted to try this location on our last day! We travelled here and waited 10-15mins to get seated once seated we ordered drinks and food. Waited 35mins for food to get to our table with 3/4 orders to be completely cold when it hit the table. Then when asked for a replacement, the waiter was willing to accommodate but we would miss our train. The waiter did replace 2/4 potatoes for us to take to go but we never got to eat it since we had to hurry to travel back home. Overall it was not worth going to in my opinion, it was too busy and not well staffed. The wait times were longer than anticipated but the waiter was willing to work with us. We wished that we had a better experience but we will not return to this location. We only ate due to being hungry and running late due to the wait times.
Oh and my friend was disappointed in her strawberry cheesecake French toast. It was just french toast with a ton of cheesecake or some type of frosting topped with strawberries. I don’t eat this so I maybe explaining the ingredients all wrong haha but it is what it looks like.
If you are in the area then give it a try at your own risk.
This was my first time at the new location. Love it! They offer a variety and different selections than most. I always try something new and always delicious! Had the Salmon, spinach, poached egg on English muffin. Very good, but enough for two people for sure. My friend’s first time there and she also was in awe!
This must be the best breakfast place in town — it’s gotta be!
The portion sizes were just right — not overwhelming, but perfectly satisfying. The kid’s pancake came as a single stack, which was exactly enough.
I had the avocado toast, my go-to breakfast item, and this one stood out in the best way. Topped with olives, feta cheese, and red onion, it was a unique twist I hadn’t tried before — and it really worked.
The service was excellent — our server was so friendly and welcoming.
Best of all, the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of food and experience. The place was busy, with nearly every table full, which made it clear this is a local favorite. We had a great time!
Nice location set a bit away from the Main Street of shops in Fredricksburg. Inside can get really loud - you won’t be able to have a good conversation inside when they are busy. Very nice outdoor seating area would be great for breakfast before it becomes too warm.
Wait staff are friendly, fast, and attentive.
You can have a margarita, mimosa, or screwdriver with your breakfast.
The menu has plenty of options. Serving sizes are generous, and food is well-prepared.
It’s a good American breakfast destination. We do recommend it.
Insider Tip! When it was a 20 minute wait for seating, I overheard some people say, “oh, we’ll just go to the Woerner Cafe next door. That’s owned by the same people, right?” This is just what I overheard. You’ll want to verify this if that is important to you. 😉
