Noctua Bakery
Delicious, home baked breads. Sense, fluffy, crunchy crust, what more could you ask for? Our favorite is the whole wheat loaf. Staff is friendly and helpful. I'm very picky with my croissants so this place isn't blowing me away in that category, but the breads and other pastries are fantastic.

My first visit here & I’m so glad it’s so close-by to me! I did not leave disappointed!! This bakery is such a gem of a find!
I got the sesame sourdough bread & let me tell you….ITS SOOO GOOOOD!!! As soon as I got home, I had to try it as I have been smelling the fresh sesame while driving! I had a toast with some butter, cheese, topped off with cucumbers & sprinkled everything bagel seasoning! The crunch, the softness in the middle, & the taste of the sesame just absolutely DELICIOUS 😍
The service was also impeccable! Clean & cute bakery! Next time I’m defs coming in for a baked goodie 😍 & I cannot wait to try other sourdough breads!!
Highly recommended :)

What's the justification for all the good ratings. I don't quite understand. I was misguided from all the good ratings
When you walk in, everything looks right for a boulangerie bakery. All the bake goods and sandwiches are on display. They are all decent sizes and appealing.
Somehow the sandwich I received is not the same on the counter. Look at my picture. It was very lackluster. One slice of turkey, small smudge of herb aioli. $14 for this bs.
Croissant is decent, crispy shell but it has too much butter.
Maybe their specialty is bread making and I didn't buy any bread. But every I ordered was not good.

The pastries were very tasty and they do offer many of them to choose from. I wasn't a fan of not knowing how much my items would be until I got to the register though.
The coffee has an interesting fruity note to it that I haven't had at other bakeries.
The pistachio croissant has a cream filling which was nice.
Noctua is at the junction area on Dundas St W.
The restaurant is a couple of blocks away from the keele and dundas west bus stop.
I've been going there for 3 weeks now getting different items each time.
Ordering: there is a ordering desk with a display case of the baked goods and frozen dessert as soon as you walk into the restaurant. There is generally only one cashier/barista getting your food or making the drink.
Cost: I pay around $10 for two items each time I've gone. I've gotten the egg brioche, onion za'atar brioche, ham and cheese croissant, morning bun, salmon cream cheese croissant.
Wait Time: about 10 minutes, each time I go there are about 3 people in line ahead of me.
The bakery has a small ordering area and two sets of chairs at the front. The bakery smells great when you walk in and although it is rather busy the line does move pretty quickly. The egg brioche was rather dry and the egg was baked until hard boiled (not creamy kind of chalky taste). The Za'atar brioche was great. The caramelized onion in the Za'atar brioche tasted really good and the brioche was buttery as well. The ham and cheese croissant was really tasty. The saltiness of the ham and cheese really complemented the buttery croissant. The morning bun tasted like a cinnamon bun without the icing. It was tasty but sort of dry and cold as well. The salmon and cream cheese croissant was okay, the salmon was a little present in the cream cheese, but odd enough the croissant ended up tasting really salty. I think most of the items could benefit from being warmed up before eating.
Overall: The bakery has a familiar feel and has an interesting selection of baked goods, though some of the items are a miss like the (egg brioche, and morning bun). The standouts so far have been the za'atar caramelized onion broiche and ham and cheese croissant. Overall the items I've tried so far have been alright, I was sort of expecting more from the items given the high google review score of the bakery.
Love this bakery. They always have a great selection of both savoury and sweet pastries that consistently taste delicious. My favourite item at the moment is their guava cream cheese croissant. Perfectly flaky, buttery and not overly sweet despite the filling, it's one that you don't find in many other bakeries in the city.
