Very disappointing. Very over priced, over rated, food average at best, service classless and snobby.
Went there for son’s birthday. Sat in the patio. Climate control was horrible. Hot when we sat down. Turned the heater off then within 10 minutes it was cold. Asked if we can turn the heater back on and they said they couldn’t. So we sat there for the next hour in the cold. Probably should have asked to sit in main dining area but they insisted how nice and comfortable the patio was. Ordered dinner, after son ordered 2 appetizers, a $90 steak and soup the waitress still tried to convince him to order the $50 lobster mashed potatoes to go with his steak even after mentioning he’s getting appetizer and French onion soup instead. Classic case of upselling. Overall the food was pretty good but everything is over priced for what you get. One item we ordered that was not very good was the lobster bisque. It came out at room temperature, not hot, not cold. Very odd and not very tasty. Ended up getting sick from it a hour later. Our main waitress never asked how the food was. Another server did ask how the steak was, no inquiry on the other 5 items we ordered. The only time our soft drinks were refilled was when we asked for them to be, again by a different server. Steaks were good but at that price they better be. Steak/entry comes with absolutely nothing on the side. As mentioned we ordered several appetizers. Since we were celebrating a birthday we were told they provide a small portion of one of their desserts. Of course the waitress (main server again) pushed another desert once again upselling to pad the bill. When the bill came she came with the CC machine and hovered right on top of me while I reviewed the bill and added tip and paid. Since when has it become acceptable to just hover on top of someone while they are paying the bill? I find it extremely rude especially in a so called “fine dining” restaurant. Leave the check in a bill pad on the table, go away and come back after the customer has the opportunity to review it. Stop being vultures!
Overall most of the food was good but not great, restaurant inside has nice atmosphere but patio seating is very uncomfortable and climate control sucks and snobby waitress. Save your time and money and go to Ruth’s Chris so much better or the Keg. Just as good of food at the Keg and less than half the price and better service. Oh yea you have to pay for parking on top of everything else. Won’t be back.

Went for dinner this weekend for my cousins birthday. The restaurant is nice with great ambiance, bathrooms are upstairs which was annoying to walk up in heels.
Our waitress was great and very attentive. Signature cocktails are over priced. The menu had a lot of options. And most plates are shareable.
Our faves were the Cesar salad, Mac and cheese sticks, calamari, Brussels sprouts, and butter cake.
They give a free gift card and butter cake for birthdays.

This was the second visit of the week to Black & Blue restaurant in a week. First time we visited we sat downstairs and on the second visit, the four of us where given a 6 seater table upstairs. However we were unable to talk across the table, due to the music, plus people trying to speak over the music and the distance between us, so we asked the waiter, if we can move downstairs. The manager came over and asked which 4 seater table, was much better for us, so we choose a table. We ordered Lobster Bisque (lobster salad, truffle foam) which is poured at the tableside. This was tasty and enjoyable. For mains, we had ordered a two Châteaubriand each for two people. The beef tenderloin center cut was extremely soft and tender and the mash potatoes was also very tasty. The dish came with roasted carrots, which were very hard on both occasions.

For dessert we ordered Crepe Suzette for Two, which is cooked at the Tableside. The waiter explained what he was doing and we enjoyed watching him cook them and they did taste very lovely. It was strange that they were served with balsamic ice cream, fresh cracked black pepper - but the overall dessert was divine and exquisite.

Deyan was our server today. He did a fantastic job. We came in for happy hour and then dinner. Deyan kept our drinks coming and all the happy hour bites fresh on our table. He anticipated what we needed and was quick to ask us if he could get our next desire. We had all the maki sushi rolls that were on offer for happy hour along with the phyllo prawns. I had a dozen oysters on happy hour offer. Everything was great. Then, I had a ribeye steak done rare. I really enjoyed it. The steak was prepared exactly the way I ordered it. My wife and I visit this restaurant each time we come to Toronto and we have never been disappointed in the staff nor the food. Thank you Black and Blue for making each trip memorable! I love the fact that I can go from my hotel on the PATH to this restaurant without going outside. It removes the need to wear a cumbersome overcoat over my suit coat.
