I'm going to be the bad one here and it's truthful. I'm giving it 2 stars as the only good thing was our wait staff. The food wasn't good this Easter Buffet lack of choices or cold. The rice pilaf was inedible as had been burned. The cold salmon was flavorless and slimy I couldn't finish either portion as it was bad.Who serves roast beef with chicken curry next to it? There were only hash browns for a potato choice nothingt0 complimentthe meats. My next issue was the seating we were put at a table right next to the dirty dishes station and the noise was unnecessary and loud as plates were dropped into tubs.Who seats someone like that it was very unpleasant. I will be looking someplace else for an Easter brunch next year as this was a horrible dining experience

Diets go here to die, their Sunday Brunch Buffet featuring a wide selection with solid execution across the board. Make sure you don’t miss the BBQ Chicken – moist, tender flesh with a crispy skin and umami depth – and pair that with a refreshing balance of sweet and acidic beet salad to cleanse the palate, adding a touch of veggies into your buffet bowl. The lasagna didn’t disappoint with its soft, comforting layers with a tangy tomato sauce and good meat ratio. The savory breakfast sausage brought a slight snap, nice char, and the right feel for brunch. Finish your meal(s) off with a dose of sugary indulgence, with a generously saccharine bread pudding with a strong custardy-maple syrup fragrance and vanilla, or a lighter apple crisp and tangy raspberry sorbet – a great finisher.
Winterlicious2026 The HotHouse. Great service! Apps came out
The calamari a la Plancha was delicious and little chewy but oh so flavourful. The Austrian Venison Tartare was very delightful yummy. The Champin̈ones al Ajillo were scrumptious. The mains ooo Short Rib Stifado were overdone the orzo was clumpy and cold. The Tuscan Swordfish was definitely fire 🔥. The baklava cheesecake was sinful yum. The Bougatsa .... delicious will go again.
This restaurant is located downtown Toronto. They have a bit of everything but seems like they specialize in brunch on weekends.
They have sandwiches, salads, benedicts, pastas and classic breakfast style dishes. They also serve mimosas, cocktails, coffee, tea and desserts.
The food is average and over priced for what you're getting. The drinks and desserts are good though with normal prices.
Service is also pretty average. The decor is nice and they have a patio but other than that, this restaurant is pretty average, at least for brunch.
If you're looking for brunch, I would suggest Chez Cora's over this restaurant. They've about the same quality but without the high price point and they have several more locations also.
Hot House has always had good food, and I’ve visited several times over the years. The quality has been consistent, and I especially liked their pizzas — they were always fresh and flavorful.
However, during my last visit, I was told they no longer had pizza available, which was disappointing. The service that day was also not as friendly or welcoming as usual, and it really affected the overall experience for me. Because of that, I haven’t gone back since.
It’s a place with good food, but I hope the service and menu consistency improve in the future.
The service and ambiance was really good, however, I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole, but it just wasn’t for me. The pasta had a slight play-doh taste that I didn’t love. That being said, everyone else in my group really enjoyed their meals, so it might’ve just been my dish. I’d still consider coming back to try something different on the menu.
A Downtown Delight with an Unforgettable Bite ❤️
Hothouse Restaurant is a truly great surprise right in the heart of downtown Toronto. I’ve often walked by, wondering what was inside, and finally checking it out was the best decision.
We visited during the Thanksgiving weekend and were thrilled to find they offered an all-you-can-eat menu, which is such a nice perk to have right in the core of the city. The options were extensive and thoughtful, spanning both the savory and sweet sides of the buffet, leaving us completely satisfied.
The service here is reliably good, but the atmosphere truly shines, especially since we were treated to live music on the Sunday we visited. The drinks also impressed; the Earl Grey mimosas are a must-try—I absolutely loved that unique, fragrant twist on the classic.
However, the reason I will be rushing back is singular: the house bread pudding. There are simply not enough words to describe how rich, comforting, and perfectly delicious that single bite was. It genuinely blew my mind. This dessert is a masterpiece, and I would return for that perfect bite alone, without any doubt.
Hothouse is a vibrant, welcoming spot that offers excellent value and an atmosphere that elevates the dining experience. Go for the live tunes, stay for the mimosas, but whatever you do, save room for the bread pudding.
We celebrated our wedding at HotHouse in August and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the team was. Working with Alena was seamless; she went above and beyond to make sure our reception here was impeccable. From setting up the tables for us, organizing our massive dessert table and responding to any and all questions I had, Alena was an incredible event coordinator. Our guests raved about the food, the service and the atmosphere. The staff paid such attention and care to us and our guests, it truly felt like they were dedicated to making sure we had a wonderful night. I can’t recommend HotHouse enough both for a meal out and to celebrate an event. Thank you so much HotHouse team for making our day one to remember.
Came to HotHouse last weekend for dinner to celebrate a homecoming! Although we had requested our favourite server Jesse when booking the reservation, we were left in good hands with Aishwarya. Started with a martini and calamari and had a delicious gnocchi recommended by our server, all accompanied by a great bottle of wine. The halloumi sandwich was also yummy. We wanted to try the tiramisu but we were sooo full; next time!
We came for the all you can eat brunch! Everything was delicious - especially the roast beef with gravy and the French toast was made with thick brioche bread. Our server Mehdi was attentive in refilling our coffee and explaining where everything was located in the buffet. Thank you!
My wife and I decided to return to Hothouse after searching for some good food. Very nice decorum inside with the option to be seated outside and enjoy the downtown vibe. Our waiter Christopher was very thorough in explaining the recommendations on the menu. My wife and I decided with the Lake Erie Pickeral on a bed of warm of chickpea salad, very moist with the seasoned sauce the chickpeas were cooked in. The asparagus were cooked to perfection.
Pretty good food for the price, good service, and window side seating is nice. I had the pickerel from Lake Erie and it was incredibly fresh. Usually a lot of fish dishes are absolutely soaked in sauce so you can barely taste the fish. This was actually the opposite and a nice change of pace, where there was minimal seasoning, and the flavour came mostly from the olives and roasted cherry tomatoes. My only minor feedback is that it would’ve still been nice to pair it with a light sauce.
I lunched alone on the patio, which is a really nice space. My server was friendly. I ordered the halloumi sandwich with sweet potato fries. Main issue with my experience is that it took nearly an hour, fifty minutes, to get my lunch, which caused me to miss attending a panel at the conference I was at. The sandwich was good, but not worth that kind of wait. The server and I assume the manager apologized for the wait, but didn’t offer a discount or anything. I’d likely not visit again when in town.
I recently had dinner at Hot House Restaurant, and the whole experience was genuinely fantastic. We sat outside on the patio, and the ambiance was just right, relaxed, cozy, and perfect for enjoying a nice evening in the city. The outdoor setup had a warm charm, with soft lighting and a great street view that made everything feel inviting and easygoing.
For the food, I had the jambalaya, and the kitchen was super accommodating with my dietary restriction (no shellfish). They adjusted the dish without any hassle, and it still came out flavourful, hearty, and satisfying, you’d never guess it was a modified version. I also ordered a burger and fries, which was a classic, juicy, and fresh.
My fruity cocktail was refreshing and just the right mix of sweet and tart, and I finished the meal with their apple crumble dessert, which was warm, deliciously spiced, and served with a scoop of ice cream that brought it all together.
The staff were attentive, friendly, and really made sure everything was just right. Between the great service, delicious food, and lovely patio atmosphere, this spot is definitely one I’ll be returning to.
If you’re looking for a place that’s both tasty and has good vibes,
10/10 would recommend :)
Attended a birthday brunch celebration with a group of 12. On Sundays the restaurant offers a Sunday all you can eat brunch buffet. The restaurant buffet offers meat and vegetarian options to choose from not to mention the choice of dessert, and alcohol is available at the bar. The restaurant is spacious, staff were very friendly. There is also an outdoor patio available with live music. Since it was BUFFET, wished if we were given the option to opt out of gratuity, to give a regular % tip since it was a large group. Paid for 3 out of 12 guest; total bill =$165.
If you're looking for a delightful brunch experience in Toronto, look no further than the Hot House restaurant at 35 Church St. I had the pleasure of visiting on a lovely Sunday morning, and it was nothing short of fantastic!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely brunch with friends.
Now, let's talk about the food! The brunch menu is a true testament to culinary creativity and quality. I indulged in a selection of dishes that were not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delightful experience, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. My favorites today were the eggs, salmon, Jerk Chicken, and the cheese cake.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure that every guest was well taken care of. It made the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, my visit to Hot House was a memorable one. If you're in the area and craving a delicious brunch, I highly recommend stopping by. You won’t be disappointed!
