Paddington's Pump

Best Peameal Bacon in Toronto. Paddington's ALL DAY BREAKFAST includes French toast and pancakes, alongside the requisite egg dishes, bacon, and sausage. Steak and eggs remains a classic favourite around the clock, and chicken fingers and chicken wings are on the lunch and dinner menu. Burgers, tuna melts and salads are also on the menu throughout the day, while the most famous sandwich remains the Oink on a Kaiser, served on a toasted bun. Our licensed patio is open in the warm months with great views of the CN Tower.

Was seated by the hostess, waited for over 25 minutes, saw several other people who were sat after me get service and finally just got up and left as I received no service. Waitresses were avoiding eye contact with me and it wasn’t packed.

Having walked close to an hour to get to St Lawrence Market and then a walk around we wanted somewhere to sit down to eat and drink. We found Paddingtons and were not disappointed. The food was great, as were the staff. I would definitely recommend if you are at the market.

Visited today. Friendly server couldn't do enough. I had to order the famous peameal bacon sandwich. It was huge and came with fries aswell. Hubby got the french toast and bacon again massive portions. Tasted delicious. Server even came round topping my coffee up. Extremely reasonably priced . Would definitely recommend 😁

Great experience good, food, welcoming atmosphere. Naomi rules! In town for work, but will come here every time I am in Toronto! Thanks for the great hospitality and a great way to close out a long day of travel.

A market classic. Some things hopefully never change. Superb breakfast sandwiches. Nothing fancy, but delicious. An old school market tradition - well made, hot, filling, and a decadent treat at one of Toronto’s best spots.

I just found that there was something missing. My eggs Benny was okay, the Hollandaise was mediocre but the peameal was excellent. The potatoes were good enough, but again, just so-so. The service was relatively quick, but no follow-up on water, though the water definitely had a strong iron taste to it. For the cost and “okay” food, there’s just so many Toronto locales that can give you a better experience for around the same price.

Returning to Toronto for a visit, I HAD to have a peameal bacon sandwich, and chose to have it here. Delicious! I made it healthy by swapping the potatoes for fruit 😁. My son had the same with egg, looks like a Benedict.

Service was fast and really friendly.
Best tasting hollandaise I’ve had. Salmon was awesome too. Zero complaints

Realistically, this is the best breakfast in Toronto outside of a hotel. Simply marvelous.

I live in Toronto but. . .... If you happen to be visiting from Philadelphia.... Think Reading Market.

Wonderful! We wanted to try this place for the peameal sandwich and poutine. So pleased we did! We visited at lunch time, and although very busy, we found a table. Very cosy with quick, friendly service. We really enjoyed the food, and also ordered pancakes; they were so light and fluffy. Potions sizes are generous and reasonably priced. Highly recommended for great food in authentic surroundings.

Went on the recommendation of our HoHo bus guide. We ordered The Oink Sandwich with the pea meal bacon and optional cheese. Comes with fries, but I opted for the salad instead. It was great!! Service was very good, friendly and fast.
Great portion. We haven’t needed to eat anything else today!

A great spot with room to improve on busy mornings
I’ve visited Peddington’s Pump twice for breakfast. The first time was amazing — delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere that made me want to come back. So I did! On my second visit, a busy Sunday morning, the place was crowded, which was understandable. However, when we asked about the wait and queue, the initial staff response was rather blunt and unwelcoming: “We don’t have a table and don’t know when one will be available.” That could definitely be handled more gracefully. Fortunately, another staff member stepped in with warmth and quickly found us a table. The breakfast itself was pretty good and the vibes were lively and enjoyable. Despite anything, I would highly recommend this place for breakfast but don’t expect an easy table on weekends 😉

Tasty Sandwiches with pork slices (peameal) - traditionally with tomato, onions and honey mustard. But you can add what you like. Try it!
And they also have a restaurant with different tasty meals.

Stopped here for brunch and soon wished we hadn't. We ordered drinks and our server, who seemed quite preoccupied, brought them over. I realised I'd ordered something I can't drink so checked with our server about the ingredients and asked to order something else. Our server seemed to take this mistake on my part quite personally and proceeded to make us feel very unwelcome from that point on, snapping at us asking questions about the menu, snatching things from us and dropping dishes on the table in such a rush like she didn't want to be there. I get it, everyone has bad days at work, but this veered into being actively hostile - to the point where she was gossiping about us to other diners within ear-shot. The height of unprofessionalism. To add a final insult to injury, the side of the table hadn't been cleaned in some time, results in a band of what I can only describe as gunk staining my fiance's shirt. Such a shame as the food is actually good, but the way we were treated here was not acceptable.
