I find that in my experience they do not really cater to English Customers as much as their other Chinese patrons… I arrive at the restaurant and it took atleast 9 minutes before I was ever acknowledged. Both staff members appear to be at the back preparing the food and there’s no one at the counter. I was not greeted upon arrival absolutely zero customer service. The Asian woman just stare at me and said MENU??… they were not busy, just seem busy with uber orders
the food was REALLY yummy and the portions were very hefty , especially the jian bing. i had the spam and hashbrown one, and added a dough stick inside, which made it absolutely massive. the crepe was so incredibly soft, silky, and eggy, like the perrffffect texture. it wrapped all the ingredients in a warm pocket , and made just the most comforting experience. the 油條 was slightly greasy (but in a good, delicious way), thick, chewy, and hot. it might’ve been a bit too substantial though inSIDE of the jian bing ..? it probably would’ve been better separate , because it was kinda tricky to get it all in a bite. the delicate crisp of the crispy crackers were also immaculate. the spam wasn’t super salty or flavourful, but i really recommend adding the super fragrant, aromatic chili oil for a kick. i also think it would’ve been better if they added hoisin sauce in the jian bing for a bit of sweetness.
the grilled chicken taiwanese pancake wasn’t as tasty, and barely had any meat in it. it was much saucier and more flavourful though, with a creamy tanginess from the mayo mingling with a sweet sauce. probably wouldn’t get this again though.
also , the staff were kind of rude to the customers behind their backs and didn’t really try to hide their annoyance which made me kind of uncomfortable.
Went in with a Chinese friend for breakfast and thought it was ok. Food was a bit oily I thought and some of the extra ingredients we ordered were added in very small amounts. Portions are big but it’s definitely not cheap.
I enjoyed my experience because it was unique and I got to try something different I had never eaten before but don’t think I’ll ever return - at least not alone. Still would recommend to friends out of town craving Jian Bing.
I came here on a weekday morning for a quick breakfast and I got their combo which includes the Chinese crepe, the fried dough sticks and a fresh soy milk. The deal is pretty good for the amount of food.
The dough sticks were freshly fried and rather oily but it hits the spot if that's what you're looking for. Chinese crepe had sausage as well as egg, green onion and a crispy dough inside. Unfortunately the flavor was not as good as some other ones I've had. The soy milk was refreshing since I got the iced one. Even though I got the one which is sweetened it was not too sweet and perfect.
The seating area is pretty clean, but there is minimal decor.
The lady who served me was extremely nice and served me with a smile.
