Tibet Café and Bar is located at 51 Kensington Ave in Toronto , ON and serves great food and drinks in Toronto
We recently dined at this charming café and were delighted by our experience, especially as Nepalese familiar with Tibetan flavours. The food transported us back to Bauddha.
We started with the chowmein, which was pleasantly spicy without being overwhelming, making it enjoyable for all. Next were the pan-fried momo, which were perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with a spicy chilli sauce that added an extra kick. While the plate contained only eight momo, they were generously sized and satisfying. A highlight of the meal was the pork chilli served alongside rice; it was absolutely delicious and left us wanting more (it was not spicy or hot).
To complement our meal, we each enjoyed a refreshing beer before concluding our evening.
Overall, the staff were friendly, the food was flavorful, and the ambiance of the café was inviting and vibrant, even though the street was very quiet at night. For a meal for two, including three dishes and an alcoholic drink, we spent around $75, which felt like a worthwhile investment. We highly recommend this café for anyone seeking a taste of Tibetan cuisine.
I had their beef momos and mango fruit smoothie.
This place is decently priced in Kensington, the food is fresh and tasty, however, if I had to recommend momos, I would recommend Loga’s Corner on Queen.
The momos here I would say, taste good but not the best I have had. It’s about a twenty-minute wait for an order of Momo’s as well. While I was here, I was told not to pick the chicken ones, as the individual taking my order said it tastes sort of bland.
This place is affordable; the seating area is nice however I did want to make a note about the women’s washroom. I’m unsure if the male washroom is as small, but the women’s washroom, is very small. I have average feet, barely fit my feet. The larger issue though, is there is no hook anywhere in there. If the establishment would be willing, I would recommend adding a hook somewhere.
So, for all ladies, I would not take anything down there, you won’t be able to hang your purse or anything if you need anything to freshen up or address – anything, that may need to be addressed.
Tibet Café and Bar delivers a truly authentic Tibetan dining experience. The momos are fresh, juicy, and packed with flavour—easily one of the highlights. Their laphing is perfectly balanced with the right mix of spice and texture, making it a must-try for anyone who loves bold flavours. The chicken chili is another favourite, offering the perfect blend of heat and savoury goodness. Along with great food, their drinks are refreshing and crafted with care, complementing the meal beautifully.
The ambience is warm, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing, with Tibetan décor and soft lighting that create a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Overall, Tibet Café and Bar stands out for its food authenticity and comfortable, aesthetic vibe—highly recommended.
I love coming here for momos! They always hit the spot when I'm craving something warm, hearty, and flavorful. The decor is beautiful, filled with vibrant Tibetan art that really adds to the atmosphere. It's run by a local mom-and-pop team, and I love supporting them as they contribute so much to the community.
