Chen Chen’s Nashville Hot Chicken

Went to try Chen Chen’s and I was excited as I saw positive reviews on TikTok for it. I had their dirty plate with the Hot sandwich and small dirty fries.

Tried the fries, the sauce has no flavour or kick. It really felt like mostly melted cheese (not in a good way, like processed sliced cheese) and some other sauce combined to give it a bland taste.

I was hungry so I ate it despite it being imo a 2/10 food, mainly for edibility. I had the sandwich and I had to stop eating it. I got the sandwich in ‘HOT!’ and the spice was hot (which was good), the sauce inside (visually looks similar to the fries sauce) is flavourless and adds no depth to the food. I was genuinely surprised by how bad this was, because I’ve seen such positive opinions about this place.

I’ve been to others like Juicy Birds and they’re overall better regarding a comparable sandwich and especially dirty fries, it’s not close. It’s also cheaper than this.

Staff were extremely nice and friendly.
Wouldn’t recommend the food tho.

Amazing flavours in their made-from-scratch Szechuan hot chicken sando, Nashville hot tenders & famous mac and cheese! 🔥 House-made sweet tea is delicious. Staff are so friendly!

highly recommended this spot! food was amazing, tenders were crispy, chicken sandwich was saucy, tender, juicy and filled with so much flavour! corn ribs and mac were so tasty and their loaded waffle fries were delicious! also recommend their sweet tea! they offer different spice levels which is great as well!

Stopped by Chen Chen’s Nashville Hot Chicken for lunch today while visiting The Well in Downtown Toronto with my mom and aunt, and we were so glad we did! We ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich Combo and the Grilled Nashville Chicken Sandwich, with Mac & Cheese and Spicy Waffle Fries on the side.

The food presentation was amazing and everything tasted just as incredible as it looked. The sandwiches were packed with flavour, super filling, and definitely worth the price. The Spicy Waffle Fries in particular were a standout, crispy, seasoned perfectly, and full of bold flavour.

We were greeted at the counter by one of the owners, who was so friendly and patient while answering all of my aunt’s questions. The whole experience was welcoming and delicious. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving some comfort food done right!

Ordered Nashville hot chicken tenders (the spiciest version) and it was delicious. Even with the delivery the tenders were crisp and the meat was super tender. With that level of spice I was surprised, that the heat wasn’t the overwhelming part. The chicken was indeed delicious. The aioli wasn’t as great as the chicken, had better ones. But didn’t matter as I am not a dip guy. Still a five star for the chicken.

I ordered on Uber Eats not familiar with the location but the menu and deals looked TOO good to pass up.

When I tell you that this is the most presentable, and tastiest food I have ever ordered on Uber Eats in my life?? The best fried chicken I have EVER eaten? Absolutely true.

I didnt know what I was expecting but I tried pretty much a bit of everything. Read the reviews on the chicken sandwich and knew I HAD to try it. Even with delivery, BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I HAVE EVER EATEN. In my life. 100%. I got it with just pickles on it due to being a picky girl. Still amazing.

I was smacking my gums on it like I just rolled up 🍃, completely sober, on cloud 9. I have leftovers too!

Side order of bacon mac and cheese: so rich and creamy, the bacon and chives added the perfect amount of savoury. Loved it.

Elote: the corn was the perfect amount of sweet and savoury. If you like parmesan you will love this, it is what adds the salty flavours. (Tip: add extra melted butter it elevates it 🤭)

Szechuan Chicken sandwich: Fantastic, give me 14 of them right now. Not too saucy, the bun was soft and NEVER soggy.

Chicken and waffles: gorgeous. They came without sauce and the seasoning underneath the breading. Think popeyes but so much better. Crispy, melt in your mouth. I dont know how a chicken tender felt like it was falling off the bone but it did. The Belgian waffle was just a normal waffle but worked as a buttery fluffy bread if you want a tender sandwich.

Side of waffle fries: usual waffle fries but salted perfectly, crispy, good oily flavour.

I have never in my life felt drawn to write a review after a delivery order. RUN dont walk.

Best fried chicken I've tried in Toronto.

The OG nashville sandwich comes with brioche bun and coleslaw. This is the highest quality of frued chicken I've had. It would taste good on its own as tenders.

Waffle fries were good and I recommend taking a few bites of the Mac and cheese whilst eating the chicken as it's comparatively less salty than the nashville chicken and pairs well.

I finally tried the much-hyped Chen Chen’s Nashville Hot Chicken and it absolutely lives up to the buzz! The chicken sandwich here is phenomenal—definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. The flavor in those thighs is just insane.

I ordered the Schezuan Chicken Sandwich (hot), and it hit all the right notes. As a huge fan of chicken sandwiches, I can confidently say this is my new favorite spot. The Mac and Cheese was also excellent, creamy and perfectly seasoned.

The service was great, and the prices are good as well. Six stars ⭐️!

I tried the Szechuan Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was the best chicken sandwich I ever had! Just enough spice (I chose medium spice), tart from the pickles and sweetness and creaminess from the slaw. All the flavors are balanced! The chicken was so flavorful and juicy and the bread was soft!

I also loved the Nashville Elote Corn. Everything we had taste a bit spicy. If you love spicy chicken, this is the place to be!
